I got the Twilight Oriental Sun Dragon #1 about 3 weeks ago, and I am looking forward to an arrival of a Pearly Pink Lap Dragon any day now that I purchased from a forum member on EBAY. I haven’t been able to get picures up on this site, but I’m sure you saw these in all their glory on EBAY at the time, and I could not take a better picture anyway, but you must have seen the Twilight for sure, becuase he cost me a FORTUNE to win!!! :spank:
Does anyone know how I can try to get an email to the head painter Olimpia Carapia? I want to try to beg her to do some Sunrise Oriental Sun Dragons for sale on Ebay. Since there are no PYO Sun Dragons yet, and I want one done in the colors of a cat I lost last year, this would really fit the bill. The lap dragon just does not resemble my cat, only the Oriental or possibly the OW. I almost was going to have Kyrin repaint my Ruby, but it just seemed wrong to do that, plus the red eyes would not have worked, but the dichroic eyes would be perfect, because my cat’s eyes used to FLARE with his different moods. He is pictured next to my username, his name was “Lucifer”. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :squeak:
July 8, 2008 at 9:06 pm in reply to: DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE RUBY ORIENTAL SUN DRAGON IS RETIRED? #721168well, I listed him once, with the same reserve, and the highest bid I got was around $162.00, and there was nooooooo waaaaaaaay I was giving him away for that amount, so I relisted him, and now my reserve is met, so I have to sell him this time. I hate to see him go. But I need some funds now myself. I also may be putting up my Peacock Lap Dragon with the Curled Dragon with Gold egg. I will sell them together, because they’ve always been displayed toether, and I don’t want them separated. Man, I act like they’re actual pets or something! :squeak:
July 8, 2008 at 8:35 pm in reply to: DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE RUBY ORIENTAL SUN DRAGON IS RETIRED? #721166thanks for your help–I will revise my ad later tonight to reflect that. I appreciate this.
I love them in ALL the dragons I have–depending on the colors of the eye sockets, apparantly, is what changes their eye colors. Although I don’t have one of the Laps, I know I would prefer those eyes as well. For example, I have the Pearl/Gold Sun and his eyes go from Light Gold to a Deeper Gold, and then I have the Bronze Sun and his eyes start out at a Deep Gold to a Dark Amber to almost a Fiery Red (but not a straight-on red like the Ruby sun Dragon), this is more clear, and then my Twilight Sun Dragon has eyes that go from Gold to Pale Blue, and sometimes looks like he has one Gold eye and one Blue eye. My Burgundy Gold OW has Gold eyes that go into a deep Burgundy color, or sometimes the tops of his eyes look Gold, and the bottom part looks like a Deeper Burgundy. The only thing about the OW is that I have to physically turn him to make his eyes change colors a lot, unlike the orientals, but I think that is because he doesn’t have as deep eye sockets as the orientals. :squeak:
July 8, 2008 at 8:18 pm in reply to: DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE RUBY ORIENTAL SUN DRAGON IS RETIRED? #721164I have an auction on Ebay, and according to the Astral’s Castle website, it says that Windstone has never declared the Ruby Oriental Sun Dragon to be retired, but that it has not been available since 2007 either, so that is what I put in my advertisement, just to be as honest as possible, although, when I purchased mine, it was advertised as retired. Does anybody know whether or not it is retired, since it does not look as though Astral’s Castle has revised much on their pages? If it is retired, I would like to revise my ad to say that it is, but I don’t wish to be dishonest. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Welcome from another newbie!!! :squeak:
I guess around the area of Dec thru February, there was a hacker getting into the Windstone auctions, and at the last hour or so of the auction, was either entering multiple mini-bids, to pull out everyone’s max bids, or a ridiculously high bid to pull out everyone’s max bid. I don’t think the OW was the first victim, but Karen knew it was hacked into before the auction ended, so she closed the auction. I was not home but I entered a max bid of about $1400.00, to GUARANTEE I would win it, and then saw it was pulled out. I did not get her email offering it to me at that price, fortunately, and then she called me, saying that upon reconsideration, decided to offer it to me for the cost BEFORE the hacker sucked out my max bid, which was several hundred less. She also said it was being investigated, as far as I know, it isn’t really a problem anymore. :squeak:
yes, he’s worth drooling over–I’m glad that Windstone has the integrity not to give in to these hackers, and actually Karen did a lot to find me, because I did not receive her first email, so she called me about him–I had not known about the hacker issue before, I thought he was removed from auction because he got broken or something. Then the next 2 dragons I won were the same situation as well, such as the Bronze Oriental Sun Dragon #4–I call him “Hacker-Pruf”! :squeak:
I did not belong to the forum back in February, but apparantly this was the subject of a lot of curiousity among the forum members, so to clear it all up, I was the recipient of the 2nd chance offer on the Burgundy/Gold OW, whom I affectionately call “Hacker-Shield”! I would post a picture of him, but I’ve tried about 10 times, and I can’t seem to get it to work, so I give up. If forum members want to see what he looked like again, he is pictured on some threads when I typed it in on the search option, and saw all the chat about it, as well as the hacker. :squeak:
Guess I got to get a Poad–and see what all the fuss is about! :squeak:
Melody, I know this is probably a stupid question and all the forum members are probably groaning, but since I am new to the forum, I don’t know the answer and would like to ask you–what is your personal favorite sculpture? And if it is a Poad or something else, then what is your favorite Dragon? And why? Just curious, no hurry to answer me, I know you’re busy. Or maybe the other forum members who already know could answer it. Thanks. :squeak:
What’s your highest bid Kitsunelady? I gotta know what to beat!!!!!!!!!!!
I have a perfect Ruby Oriental Sun Dragon, that I was considering sending to Kyrin to repaint in the colors of a cat I lost to heart disease last year, but it seems wrong to “alter” a perfectly good piece, especially one that is nearing extinction. If somebody has a broken Oriental Sun Dragon out there, that they would like to trade with some cash, or if they already had one repaired, but would like a perfect mint one, so I don’t have to feel bad about altering a repaired dragon, or I would be interested in trading for a Red Fire Old Warrior with me paying the cash difference. My dragon was purchased 6 months ago NIB, has original box and hangtag, and has been in a glass display cabinet in a smoke-free apartment.
do you still have your red fire OW?
