I live in a condo so I do not have anywhere to put a rock dragon big or small. Levitz no longer carries the display cases I bought last January. The only one left just got sold from the showroom floor. I stopped by to pay for it on Monday and it was sold. Now I have to try to find a 3rd one that will sort of match the 2 I got last winter. I wonder if I could put one inside the new display case

You probably don’t need to put the rock dragon inside the display case…he looks pretty natural on the floor (I have mine next to the fireplace)…

I have 4 cats and I’m just worried that one of them would do something to hurt it. They are very good cats but every once in a while every living thing can have an ooppss moment. I lost the same dragon 3 times due to them accidently knocking him over. He was a black porcelin dragon from the Franklin Mint now all three are land fill
I have a big wood carved bear in the right of my fireplace and the fireplace tools on the left sideNovember 22, 2006 at 6:38 pm #510133That would have to be a pretty huge cat to hurt a rock dragon!!
November 22, 2006 at 6:54 pm #510134mine chase eachother around and crash into things. I hate it sometimes becasue they all seem to gang up on Nala. She is the youngest and I guess it’s just survival of the fittest. She can get her revenge when the others are old and she still has energy

If you have it on carpet, it will be fine, even if they knock it over. Also, you might think of a slightly more out of the way place on the floor, like the corner of a wall and a couch….=P Trust me on this one, the LRD already gave one of my cats a concussion from running into it…

That’s why you should at least get the front paws declawed….Especialy if they are purely indoor cats…..and if they’re outdoor/indoor, they should be Completely indoor! *This is from the mouth of my mom, the Veterinarian, don’t shoot the messenger! LoL*
On a soapbox WAY off topic side note, I know people have different views about declawing, particularly if they are outdoor or partialy outdoor. Aka defense and such…I think that people should do what they think best in their situation, but, personaly, I belive that if at all possible, cats should be kept indoors and at least the front paws declawed.

I guess Melody designed them to withstand anything they might encounter outdoors — including cats! 🙂
November 22, 2006 at 10:17 pm #510141I thought it was now illegal to de-claw a cat
November 22, 2006 at 10:23 pm #510142Ummm…No..I don’t think it’s ever even been discussed….ferrets in Cali on the other hand are a different story…

Eeep. Sometimes it may be neccessary, but PLEASE do not get a cat de-clawed casually! It’s HORRIBLE for the cat. They have to essentially amputate part of their toe. Yes, if you have an indoor cat that has real behavioural problems it might be neccessary, but don’t do it just because they sharpen their claws on the furniture once in a while! There are better ways to get them to not do that.
