Hi Melody,
I was wondering if you were still thinking of painting some of the wolf candlelamps in natural wolf colours?
I would love to see one!Thank you ๐

I would love to see one!Thank you ๐You mean painted like a real wolf? Yes, I just finished a batch of them in assorted husky and wolf colors. I think there are enough of the husky ones to do a batch in the store. The wolf ones, and oddball husky colors will probably be for ebay.

OOPS I mean I just painted a batch of the “Spirit wolf’ candle lamps, not the “wolf council” candle lamps.November 8, 2009 at 7:24 am #790638Melody wrote:abatos wrote:Hi Melody,

Really?! That’s wonderful, thank you! I know you’re busy and I feel bad asking…but would there be any chance that you’ll be painting anymore in real wolf colours? (I can never afford the eBay items…)
I can’t wait to see them, thank you so much! ๐

OOPS I mean I just painted a batch of the “Spirit wolf’ candle lamps, not the “wolf council” candle lamps. No worries :). I’d love to see a “wolf council” candlelamp with each wolf painted a different “wolf” colour, whenever you have the time :). That would be beautiful!
Thank you muchly again :D.
November 8, 2009 at 3:49 pm #790640Are the spirit wolves you painted the small one, or the big candlelamp? o.o

The big candle lamp. These are “rescue” wolf candle lamps. While a new painter learns to paint these in stone finish, sometimes there are pieces that come out too dark or in this case, too brownish. They were perfect castings, and looked good, but wolves just aren’t that brown, so I repainted them into sable huskies. A few were grey enough, but had other issues with the paint so I painted them like wolves or different colored huskies. They look neat.

I have painted the candle lamp Winged, large “Spirit Wolf” in husky and wolf colors for the store. I also have painted a few “Wolf Council” candle lamps in wolf colors for ebay.

Oh wow, thank you so much Melody, I really cannot wait to see these, especially the “Wolf Council” candle lamps! I remember asking that before in June, lol, and am happy to see you were able to paint some! ๐
I have my fingers crossed that I’m able to buy a wolf painted Spirit Wolf in the store! Don’t think I’ll be able to win one of the councils though. Will the store ones be separated between Husky or Wolf colours or will the purchase be a random surprise, lol?Thank you! ๐

The husky ones were stone finish candle lamps that came out a nice reddish brown color. It was not the right color for wolves, but was too pretty to paint over. So I made those into sable huskies. They have reddish brown bodies edged with darker brown trim and those cool facial markings huskies have. Huskies aren’t as popular as plain old wolves are, but these are really pretty.
The candle lamps that came out blotchy ( because of gypsum density issues), or had some other problem in the stone finish I have repainted into grey wolves. They are pretty too. -
