OK, Im kinda freaking out. I don’t do change well at all. Lets stasrt with something good – this so far, is a seriously gorgeous transition so kudos to those who worked on it.
However, I am SO lost, I can’t tell you. In theory, I like the idea of one password to log in however, at least two people in our houehold use this computer for WE stuff. I am the forum end, and my cousin is the store/buying end. We obviously have different names as I am Sway and she is Jillian. If I’m logged in, they will not find that Sway (me) has a valid PayPal account when Jillian orders something. So I’m confused about that.
Other thing that panics Jillian the most, is that the Front Page of the Store is slow. It does not give you an at a glance of whats been restocked and what is newly added. You had to wait for the slide show to go by, from what we’re seeing. And you know as well as I, that when there are hot new pieces or restocked pieces, time of SO very essential and we don’t have time to waste while we watch the slide show of large thumbnails. Alternative would be to go into every single statue category to find if anything is new and that would also take forever.
I know I am missing something here, so please tell me what it is. I like the one page at a glance the way the store use to be only because of time constraints and urgency in securing pieces. As for the forum stuff, that I can just piddle around with and learn how to use in my own time. But buying stuff – that is freaking us out because of the one only sign in (is she now forced to use my name since I’m signed into the forum of which she doesn’t come to?), and the length of time it takes to see ANY new pieces added to the store. To miss a piece because you’re waiting on the slide show is crazy and would be so disappointing. I’d prefer the normal scroll down the page to see everything within the scroll rather than waiting for a photo to change.
I know I’m 90% wrong here so please point me to where there is either more information or please answer these concerns directly … and I’ll try to find my way back here to see what anyone says. Thank you! *runs away biting nails in nervousness*

I am lost too. I can’t tell how to bring up the new posts and topics and bypass older stuff. I love the way the site looks though and I probably just need to spend some time on it to get her figured out. 😀
I really love the look of the new sight, but forum will take some getting used to. I didn’t change any of my settings for logging in either. My store login was different from my forum login. Hmm….

ROFLMAO – oh man, I scrolled to the bottom and saw how HUGE the fonts were, hilareous! I welcome the change, without it things get stale. I really love the ease of using this site more than the old one. I am getting new posts ontop, and I seem to be reading less (used to catch myself reading posts 3 years old!). Once I could log in, THANK YOU CLAY – all was well. I understand everything personal to me is located at the top right of each page under MY ACCOUNT. I am glad I have only one name, now, instead of three haha
Just beautiful, it’s all I can say.

Unfortunately the website is going to stay with the one-login-for-the-entire-site model.. there’s no way that I know of to do otherwise.
I don’t fully understand the problem you and your cousin are having. Are you saying that you are actually unable to log out of your account and Jillian into her account in order to make a purchase? Or that it simply takes too much time when an item first comes to the store (which I understand)?
Do you share an email address at all?I see what you are saying about the store. You would like a section just for the most recently added items, at a glance? I don’t think there is such a thing right now but I think it can be made. We will add it to the list if it’s possible!

I wrote a long concrit–TWICE–this morning, and the forum ate it–TWICE.
So, so far, not liking the transition!! LOL! I know we’ll all get used to it though, personally I always hate it when my favorite sites change their interface, but change can be good…
The site is beautiful, but I do agree that we absolutely need an equivalent of the “back-in-stock” page. It was pretty much the ONLY page I ever needed to look at on the old site and I miss it dearly. Everything that’s been said about it taking too long just to confirm if anything has been added, I agree with. That seems fairly straightforward though.
Most of the problems I noticed with the forum this morning are fixed, that’s cool! BUT, visually, WHY do we have to be stuck in a frame ARRRRRRRGH! It’s so claustrophobic and feels way too spacially limited. What’s the scoop on that? I just really can’t stand having to read things in a 600-pixel, postage-stamp-sized frame when I have this really nice large monitor.
I just wish this new forum could visually resemble the old one a little more…I found it very easy to quickly sort and read through the posts and always liked the layout.
And lastly, the pure white text on black or very dark background is KILLING my eyes–a 10-20% gray would be infinitely more readable and way less strain.
Just concrit, like I said. Hurrah for the new site, and all the hard work put into it!!
You said that theres now only one log in for every single aspect of WE. She no longer comes to the forum but I do and post in her stead if she has specific questions. Her end was buying stuff in the store, which I do not. We both do this from one computer and one email address. If I get it, you’re saying that since I’m logged in on forum under my name, Sway, that Jillian now must use that name for buying things. Problem there is that her PayPal account has HER name and info, and not mine. I don’t know that this will go over well with PayPal.
We do not want to split up email addresses. It’s just silly, seeing as I’ve taken care of a lot of her emails while she was ill and recovering for so long.
YES, I would most certainly like a section of the store that has an at a glance look at what is NEW and RESTOCKED in the store. Not a list of ALL items available. Think back to the original page of the store where it said at the top, “Just Added.” Right now we have to scroll through TONS of pieces that are ALL for sale, just to see if a certain Curl or Griffin or Flap is back in stock. Unless you go the other still long way around, which is to search each sculpt category individually. It takes way too long to get through 12 pages just to find something that is restocked suddenly, or is completely a new release. That kind of thing should have a page its own and only be for NEW items and restocked items that are hot because they’ve been squeaked to death (like the Male Spotted Griffins Mel just released … and thank goodness Jillian got one before this site switch or we’d have missed it entirely just hunting it down). I suppose the Waiting List email would have made us click on the Griffin link right away instead of sifting, but as for NEW items altogether, there is no heads up for those and I think they should pop right out at you rather than wondering if, gee, did a Curl happen to be released today. With that, everyone would be going through every single category of sculpt just to see if Mel made a new color.
As for the forum side, I’m not here all that often enough to care. My biggest concern is for my cousin and her ease and speed of purchase of hot items that come to be. It was just easier for her to have her real name for that private account, her own password and linked to PayPal which only she has (I do not and never will). But if I’ve signed in here now to the forum, and the rules are set that it is one Nym & password for ALL sections, Jillian is screwed from the way we see it. How can she buy properly as PayPal will not recognize my name whatsoever.
In the end, if this will be a problem for us, I’ll leave the forum altogether, and work to now have her real name instead of a cute nym, put to the account so that she can match up with her PayPal. But then she won’t be posting here so she will eventually be penalized for that, too. I don’t get it.
Seems the ability to italicize and bold and underline and use smilies is gone. Well, emotes are on other pages but no clue how to get them here without learning all their keyboard shortcuts. Was easy when they just flanked the page and you could click on the face you wanted as well as click on either BIU for bold, italic and underline. Do we have to type code now in order to do that, too?
This is long and boring to read, I know since it’s not your concern. But at the very least, please work on doing something with the store display of totally new items * hot restocks and how Jillian can buy items easily found restocked without searching every sculpt for them, and be able to use her own name rather than mine which does not match the financial account. Forget all the forum stuff, for I am not that attached and can leave. But she NEEDS to be able to purchase with ease or when she starts missing piece after piece due to website navigation issues, she’ll sadly resign from collecting cause that is just too much just to buy a piece when the other way was SO easy.
