Look at the eyes. They’re solid, part of the casting. That means that these were cast off of a production Windstone somebody bought and made a mold over.
So they’re not just re-paints, they’re outright rip-offs.
April 26, 2007 at 12:39 am #566637They look like someone made a mold and created a bunch of ceramic copies.
April 26, 2007 at 1:00 am #566638I just asked the seller if they were repainted windstones and this was the reply:
Item: Beautiful Dragon Statue Green Metallic (120112818447)
This message was sent while the listing was active.
val_dar is the seller. These were given as gifts bare and unpainted. We painted them and are offering for sale. Could be Windstone, not sure, dont know much about windstone. There are no markings or emblems on them.

unpainted????????? is some one making coppies? because those are REALLY detailed for fakes.
April 26, 2007 at 1:07 am #566639I kept thinking maybe those little guys were repaints also, but I couldn’t get past the eyes. Looks like someone knows how to cast though…
April 26, 2007 at 1:14 am #566640I am asking to see if they have better photos of them.
April 26, 2007 at 1:19 am #566641I was wondering if anyone had noticed them yet. Has anyone sent the links to John yet?
While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!
April 26, 2007 at 1:19 am #566642I kind of want to buy one just to look it over. It DOES look like a ripoff, but it is a really good one. Somehow someone must have made their own casting from a real one, it’s pretty blatent.
Got a busted Windstone?

I wonder if you took a tool to it if you could remove eyepaint and find glass eyes underneath. Tempted to buy and rescue the little guys from a hideous paint job. Poor things.
April 26, 2007 at 1:23 am #566644The last three are definately recast windstones. The first two are not, though they are similar poses, but very different dragons. Crappy, ugly ones, but still different.
The last three are definately stolen in their entirety. All you have to do is take a look at any of the young dragons and compare, pose is identical, scales are identical, someone copied a Windstone, no doubt on that.
These are the kinds of folks John and his lawyers need to go after.
