Imagine how it feels to paint these things and not be able to afford bidding on them on eBay… 😉

      I couldn’t handle that 😮 The torture!
Do you own any PYO that you painted yourself? 🙂

No.. I don’t. But it’s okay. I’d actually really rather see them go to collectors, as I tend to dwell on things that I consider flaws in my own work! 🙂 I think you guys appreciate them more than I would.
      Typical artist 😉

I have no hard feelings for people who want to bid and are willing to pay for what they bid on. I’m also very happy to see Windstone get lots of business. I’m just a little wistful that the griffins are getting so much attention lately, since they used to be more of a “niche” creature that you could snag some of the special paints for… well, less than they’re going for now.

Thanks for the discussion about it, and I agree that chickie is adorable! (and expensive!) 😀

I know what you mean! I see the male and female bengals come out and believe me and I don’t even bother! Know they’ll go way over what I’ll be able to pay. I did get a silver male and brown female bengal from a very kind forum member and now I want the chicks. What kills me is that a couple of the grey crouches went for less than $200 🙄 Accck! I love the griffie scuplts and yes, unfortunately for us, they are getting way tooo much attention! :shout:

*hugs Prairie Falcon Griffin… but gently* 😀

        Windstone collector in remission. 😉

I bid early because then I can go on with my life and not worry about missing something I really wanted. And If I bid $500 on something now, and someone is still willing to go $501, then they will beat me no matter when I put my bid in. Some folks will argue that sniping will get them the peice cheaper, but I have seen no evidence of that… esp when so many people snipe and many get caught up in the bidding war.

As for buying a peice for so much higher when you can get it, or a similar version in the store, I am with you guys for the most part. I’ll still buy a peice for $100 or more if its special…. has a COA and a cute sketch…but unless I am pretty sure it will stay rare, which is about impossible, I wont go too high for a special peice anymore. Unless its pink.

ha! I tend to dislike modern art, but putting it on a poad’s butt makes it awesome ^^

Okay… BOTH those pieces are adorable!

I gotta say I didn’t like the poads at first but they have really grown on me ( although this one isn’t my favorite). I would love to see more no panty poads(maybe as store pieces, they wouldn’t be too hard right?) I want the poad I end up getting to be special 😀

That Poad is… interesting. Not even a Poad can give any merit to modern art in my eyes, though. 😕

Re: Modern art: Keeping in mind that most art was ‘modern’ at some point in history.

Seurat and Matisse, and even the Impressionists were scorned by their peers during their day. Now they’re in museums and their work sells for millions.
