I grew up seeing this woman at school. I went to school with one of her grandsons. My grandmother was her friend and my grandfather worked with her husband. I could not believe this when I first heard from my aunt who lives in Pixley Tuesday afternoon. Pixley is a hole in the wall with about 3000 people. I know bad things happen everywhere but this is beyond bad. My prayers are with them.
October 9, 2008 at 12:02 pm #735642That is awful! 🙁 I feel so bad for the family.
How did the 12 year old get the gun to begin with though! That’s what I want to know.October 9, 2008 at 12:32 pm #735643Oh wow! That is so sad. 🙁
October 9, 2008 at 12:54 pm #735644😥 That’s terrible! I’m sooo sorry! My family lives in a little ‘hole in the wall’ town of about 3,000, also… and you’d be amazed at what can happen. I wish people would learn to use their words to solve problems instead of violence. What ever happened to the Golden Rule and ‘if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all’?

How did the 12 year old get the gun to begin with though! That’s what I want to know.I was told through family that the boys dad was arrested as well cause the gun was his. I was also told that the boy was on meds and that the grandmother was telling him to take them. I’m taking it that this was the altercation. I’m waiting to see if there is more to the story cause now I am hearing that there were more people there at the time.

October 10, 2008 at 5:45 am #735649That’s tragic. I’m sorry for the family – and for you, Adara, since you knew the lady.
October 10, 2008 at 4:11 pm #735650Thanks. They were supposed to do an autopsy yesterday but I think the cause of death in obvious.
I hope the 12 year old gets help. I don’t know what is gonna happen to him but he’ll be punished one way or the other, he has to live the rest of his life knowing that he killed his own grandmother.October 10, 2008 at 6:49 pm #735651Ouch for the lady…. I wonder what drives a kid that age to shoot his own grandmother?
Valleyview gets alot of crap too, for it’s size. A couple of years ago, the son of one of my mom’s best friends was beaten to death over nothing. They never found his killers. The guy was 21 though.
