I don’t have new pictures yet, but they got the roof done, including the tie in to the original roof, and got it covered. Just in time for our first big storm! The roofer was out today to take measurements. We should have a finished roof in two or three weeks. 😀 In the mean time, they will be working on the siding and maybe the deck.
Well, no real progress since the roof was finished (just in time!). The weather has not been cooperative. Working in the low 20’s is just not fun. I thought I’d at least share some snow photos of our place. We didn’t get as much snow as some areas near us, but we have lots of ice under it! I stayed home from work today and probably will tomorrow also.
Finally, after all the snow, wind, and rain, we have some progress to show. 😀 My 6′ garden window has been put in. (I love it!) They have about half of the siding done, and they got started on the roof. It would have been finished today, but they got the wrong trim package for it, so it will be finished next Tuesday. Once that’s done, we get all new gutters, and then they start the deck. After that comes the part I’m dreading. Cutting the doorway into the addition.
It is looking nice! I’m glad you were able to get the roof on in time as it sounds like!

Thanks to the weather, it took longer than expected, but the roof is done, the big window is in (they sent the wrong glass though 🙄 ), and we now have a deck! The benches are attached to the deck. The awning will go up later. The window was supposed to be solar bronze like the garden windows. This one is just bronze and doesn’t have the mirrored effect on the outside. We plan on changing all the other windows to solar bronze as we can. Next is replacing all the gutters and finishing the gables.
This is what I came home to today……..the dreaded hole in the wall. 😮 What a mess! At least they had drop cloths on everything. They did get it closed up for the night so we could let the cats out of the bedroom. They were not happy about being locked up in there all day. The boards on either side of the doorway are covering what’s left of the window that was there. That will be sheet rocked over. Oh, and the house was freezing cold! They turned the wood stove off! Oh well, at least it’s progress. 🙂
