Same here! Though I’ll admit I like the rich orange eyes of the Black Fire kirin over the blue of the test paints.

I didn’t do black with emerald green, but I did do dark brown and emerald green scales. The emerald birthstone ki-rin in my pyo gallery.

All those colors are lovely. I just let the blue eyes bug me…

I have to say that I really, really like the way the blue is used on the Violet Gold baby ki-rin. I’m all for a new ki-rin color involving black, and Black Fire is fine by me. But I do like the effect that the blue splashed over the shoulders of the Violet Gold baby creates! It really makes the purplish and gold colors pop and ties the whole combination together beautifully.

I have terrible luck bidding on test paints, so I’m going to just sit back and watch this one. Besides, there are some other pieces that I’m saving for . . . .
