Hello all! In relation to the post about older Windstone pieces, I felt I had to show off my latest wins on Ebay: a pair of what looks to be very old dinosaurs. Below are photos of the older and more common versions of the Baby Stegosaurus and Baby Triceratops. The older versions are matte finish, have no antique wash, and have no obvious sculpt differences from their shinier counterparts. The bottoms have no felt pads, look relatively unfinished, and each have two pin-hole type markings on them. I must say that I really like the orange eyes in the Triceratops and the subtle stripes on the back legs of the Stegosaurus. I am one happy paleontologist!
Does anyone else have dinos like these? Either way, enjoy!

March 2, 2008 at 1:14 am #673013Cool, though I’m not a huge fan of dinos, those look great. Any damage, cause I can’t see any…
March 2, 2008 at 1:14 am #673014Wow! Check those out! I like them in both finishes. Nice find! 😀

March 2, 2008 at 2:33 am #673018Wow I had never seen those before, they are so cute! I might have to keep an eye out for some too. How much did you end up paying for them?
March 2, 2008 at 3:21 am #673019March 2, 2008 at 4:06 am #673020To answer some questions, unfortunately these guys have some damage, but it’s very slight. They both have some paint rubs and the Triceratops has a chip in one brow horn and one cheek horn. Nothing that can’t be fixed! As for price, I paid just over $30 for the two combined. The dinos sometimes don’t get listed where most Windstones end up on Ebay. The dinos were also sold through catalogs and those who purchased them may not have been aware of the rest of the Windstone line. As a result, they are just described as generic hatching dinosaur statues. Good luck to all who are looking for these now!

March 2, 2008 at 7:30 am #673025Hmm. The very first chapter book I ever read was called “The Shy Stegosaurus”…now I need to find one of these, as I’ve always had a soft spot in my heart for stegos. 🙂
