Hey Everyone!
I got back in town early from my vacation and was so happy that my Swap Gift had come! It’s from StarHorse and it’s an absolutely BEAUTIFULLY Painted Ki-Rin that she painted in the colors of a Brook Trout, and I so Love It!
This is the Perfect one for me for a couple reasons… it’s my first Ki-Rin piece I’ve gotten and I’m an ‘Outdoorswoman’ in the sense that I camp, hike, birdwatch, critterwatch, go Crabbing, Hunt, and Fish! Every Spring my Hubby and I go to the mountains of Western MD and fish for Trout! We don’t have Brook Trout in Maryland, but a variation (Brown Trout) and what we normally fish for… Rainbow Trout. So Thank You So Much, StarHorse … my ‘Brooke’ is a lovely Ki-Rin Girl!

December 7, 2013 at 9:03 am #906270Hopefully mine will be here next week. In the meantime here are the photos of the one I painted that FlamingDragon got. These are pictures I got before the gem and varnish were done but it basically was finished. This is also my very first pyo ever and it was requested to be in autumn colours. It looked like a rainbow at first and then I covered the whole thing in gold paint to look like gold interference and it worked luckily as I had never tried it before. The gold actually doesn’t show too as much in the photos as it does in person but I call it an autumn leaf/gold leaf dragon. I got the colour ideas from a pretty autumn leaf photo I saw. I hope it is well liked and I plan do paint more now that I know I can do it as I was afraid for the longest time to paint my pyos as I didn’t even know where to start. If FlamingDragon gets pics too, I would like to see more of it finished.
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!

What is the colour scheme based on 96037? And thanks Bodine and LadyFirebird. I think I will keep pursuing art and painting and see how I do. Sometimes I think I have talent and other times I’m not sure sure but I appreciate having the chance here to do more and love the idea of pyos!

December 8, 2013 at 5:21 pm #906299Thank you so much everyone! 😀 I already got PYO wolf so that I can start another one hehe! (I am so addicted!)
Also, today I got a parcel notice in the mail! I could not go in to pick it up from the post office personally today, but just to let my swap know, my mom has picked it up on her way to work so I will be getting it when she comes home. 🙂 I am SO excited!

EDIT! Here is my spectacular piece from Siberakh1! 😀 She painted for me an absolutely beautiful phoenix that she called ‘Autumn Peacock.’ The details on this are gorgeous and incredible! I could not be happier or more in love – the colours bring to mind my favourite hobby of hiking with my favourite time of year to hike, my favourite types of tree (it really makes me think of aspens!) and one of my favourite animals, making it very nostalgic for me. Even the moss on the rock brings to mind fond memories of scrambling over boulders to look for a view! Where I live we sadly don’t have many deciduous forests to enjoy in autumn, British Columbia being primarily coniferous, so this phoenix also makes me think of the forest I would like to visit someday, a forest of leafy trees in a riot of autumn gold.
Here’s the first photo I took, with the adorable little card that Siberakh1 included!
And here are the photos that I took with my dad’s Rebel T3. Siberakh1, if you have any nicer photos please feel free to share them, I won’t have a chance to take pretty outdoor pictures until Sunday and these don’t do her colours justice! She’s way more vibrant in person; I especially love the green accents, her face markings and the metallic paint on her legs!
Awww, I’m glad you like her! When you said autumn colors and one of your favorite animals was a peacock, the idea instantly popped in my head! Sort of a forest spirit bird of Autumn. She didn’t turn out exactly how I had planned, but I think pyos have a way of having a say in how they finish. 😉
Anyways, here as some photos I took before I shipped. There are gold and copper highlights (the copper on the chest dangle and the crest don’t show up in the photos, and a lot of the interference colors are lost in the photos, but there is orange, gold, and red interference either on the edge or or over many of the feathers (the red is along the upper back, russet areas), as well as gold interference highlights on the beak, talons and claws.
… and in the sun… (these were taken the day before we got our dusting of snow)
December 8, 2013 at 5:38 pm #906300Wow, she practically glows gold in the sun! I’ll have to take her out and look at her, the lighting isn’t too great in my house haha (but even still she is GORGEOUS!) I really love her, thank you again! 😀

Like the idea is like a redwood forest sunset, in autumn kinda.
His sunset colored scales shimmer. I’ll have to find some of my pics, it is hard to see not in person.
I’ll edit with a few pics later.
edit**
and he actually has orange eyes, they were changed later after I took these. It was along debate and a last minute decision.
Here is where I broke and fixed him^^ (above)
Stain work prior to the pastel (below)
Over all, I put a ton of work into to carefully blending all those colors. I was really unsure about him, and couldn’t decide if I even liked him, until later, and after his eyes were changed I ralized that he grows on ya.
Edit** OK..so a bit more than a few pics. 😮

After all, this is a visual art and its great to see as much of the PYOs as possible. I’m enjoying all the pictures so much – all the PYOs are spectacular. Applause to all the artists for a job well done!
December 9, 2013 at 12:53 am #906315I don’t know why I still find these humerous, but they make me giggle everytime I see them. So here are the pictures I took and sent dragonmelody that night I had 3 seizures and posted funky stuff on windstone and facebook.
Maybe it’s because I usally try so hard to take awesome pictures, or maybe it’s because even though I am completly dilerious, and pretty much “siezure drunk” I can still manage to use technology somewhat even though I can’t talk or even think straight..
your guess is as good as mine..
