I redid my video and don’t sound near as bad. LOL! But I had to cut some things out just to get it down to 100 MB. XD
This was kinda fun. I never did anything like this before, and I’m so glad that we will be having a variety of different quests to try in the future. 🙂
Now I just have to figure out how to send it in…
Yousendit.com is a great resource (and why we asked for files less than 100MBs). It’s free and super easy to use.
If that doesn’t work, send Ayonah an email and he will come up with a brilliant solution!
I’m fuzzy on the images found on the Internet. Can we use them? Since they’re on the Internet, they’re considered public domain, right? Plus some have a copyright watermarked.
I’m asking because when I do a paint scheme, I google it and use the images I find as reference. Of course, I’d like to include that reference in my video. Can I? Eh? Eh?
If a 6 year old doodles a crappy thanksgiving turkey, scans it, and posts it the internet for all to see, it has the same copyright protection as the next great American novel. And that protection lasts the lifetime of the creator plus 70 years…only after this ridiculous time frame does the terrible turkey drawing go into the public domain.

You can find Creative Commons licensed works soooo easily these days! Google, Yahoo! and Flickr all have CC license search options. CC licenses are in addition to copyright; they allow a certain level of use WITHOUT any further permission. Since contest entrants will probably be giving rights over to Windstone, and Windstone is a company, make sure you use CC licenses that are okay with commercial use, okay derivative works, and are not share-alike. Look for attribution-only licensed works, you can do whatever you damn well please with those works as long as you give credit to the original source.
Ugh… I haven’t had a second to work on this at all yet!

I took about a half an hour of video, now to whittle it down in the video editing software I have!!! It’s probably going to be terrible compared to others. I only have a Flip camcorder so the resolution is really crappy >_< Hopefully the judges find it amusing at least ^_^

Bayou is helping me out to find a new submission method. YouSendIt downgraded their free service to only 50MB files so we’re trying to find a new one that will work. I will keep you posted! We should have something in place by tomorrow.

Honestly, I’m fine with people sending them through whatever service they prefer – just want to avoid delays due to system weirdness. 🙂

We have determined http://www.mediafire.com/ works well for uploading files of the correct size as well as for sharing the files.
I will check other options, but for this moment, we can recommend this as an alternative solution for the now defunct YouSendIt option.
I was up till 4am editing my video even though I had to be up at 8am! YAY!
