Being a moderator is SUPER hard. Especially when it’s for something you love – then negativity can be harder to deal with. ***HUGS** to Jennifer! We miss you!
I promise there will be more quests and that we’ll do our best to get as many people involved as we possibly can. Please be patient while we learn how to build this program so that it’s the most fun possible for everyone. 🙂
And, once again, if there are improvements you would like to see or contests you would like to have run, please feel free to put forward your ideas. Quest number 2 is in the planning and it’s based on a forum member’s suggestion, so I promise I’m listening and will pass ideas on to the Windstone folks. 🙂
November 18, 2011 at 3:03 am #862950Also if you don’t have windows movie maker or imovie or anything, I’m not sure if there are any good free softwares for editing but “onetruemedia” is something like $4 a month and it’s really easy to use.
I might have a few suggestions, I shall gather them and send a pm.
November 19, 2011 at 6:10 pm #863118I am tempted to join this quest. I work in the film/video industry, but in post production, I don’t normally shoot anything. Also, if I make a video, it wouldn’t be about painting a paint your own, since I have no blank ones… I do have 1 keeper paint your own I did last year that I could incorporate into a video… plotting… I think this could be a lot of fun.
November 20, 2011 at 4:10 am #863170I am so dense! >.< My laptop has a web camera…durh … I'll see if I can put something together. I seriously doubt that I can do a painting tutorial. That would take way longer than five minutes. 😛 😉
But I think I have something in mind. I've never used my web cam before, this should be fun!
November 20, 2011 at 4:54 am #863177I’m really excited to see what everyone comes up with!!!! 😀
November 20, 2011 at 5:03 am #863180I kind of want my video to have a bizarre sense of humor, I just have to get myself to make it lol. I think I want to discuss the workspace I use and why I chose the colors I did for my keeper… and various ways to make a PYO pretty…
November 20, 2011 at 8:23 pm #863218Bummer. I’m moving, so only my swap piece is out. I don’t think it’d be a good idea to use that. 😛 Ah well. Next time.
November 20, 2011 at 10:16 pm #863223Trying to fit it under 5 minutes is tough… I sound like the Micro Machines announcer man! It’s awful! XD
November 20, 2011 at 10:18 pm #863224mmmm….I’m out. I’m not particularly fond of being on camera. It’ll be fun seeing everyone elses submissions though!
November 21, 2011 at 2:52 am #863243I’m fuzzy on the images found on the Internet. Can we use them? Since they’re on the Internet, they’re considered public domain, right? Plus some have a copyright watermarked.
I’m asking because when I do a paint scheme, I google it and use the images I find as reference. Of course, I’d like to include that reference in my video. Can I? Eh? Eh?

http://www.sarahjestin.com/feedbacklists.htmNovember 21, 2011 at 4:59 am #863248Images found on the internet are not always public domain unfortunately (in fact – they generally are not). In order to be able to use them you should either obtain permission from the person who owns the images or see if they have rules about usage posted on their site (a lot of people will).
Anything you create is automatically copyrighted under U.S. law – you actually have to go through something like Creative Commons and write up a release to give people the ability to use your work without asking. Even on the internet. 🙂
If you have a scheme you want to use images for without worrying about permission – you can use this page to help find public domain images. You should be able to easily locate public domain images of common things (like animals, landscapes, etc.):

I’m sorry, that images just strikes me as funny. 🙂
