        Yay!!!! I’m so happy she turned up! But man, what a heck of an ordeal for you to go through. Still, you got her back, and that’s what counts 😉 .

                  I have no idea! She just showed up! I was home nearly all day, but no one rang or knocked — yet around three-thirty I was heading to a job interview, and it was there on the doorstep.

                  I suspect UPS did something stupid, because the box was still all sealed up, not opened. So unless someone walked off with it, kept it unopened for a day, then had a change of heart without so much as peeking inside, it was probably UPS’s doing even though they didn’t knock or ask for a(nother) signature.
