Hi Melody!
A conversation with another forum member prompted me to ask this question – she thinks that there is some stenciling used when making this pattern on the grab bag Young Poads – I never thought there was until she mentioned it!
Do you use stencils to create this design (do you use stencils at all on the grab bag Poads?), or are they all hand done? Either way, they are gorgeous, but it would be interesting to know 🙂

Different number and size of spikes, different arrangement of the mosaic pattern, etc. My opinion is “no stencils”.

I don’t know one way or the other – but Melody will often make several versions of a stencil as she refines the pattern (or as the stencils wear out) so it’s not definitive even though they are different.
Personally, I’m guessing a stencil for a rough outline and then the mosaics are done mostly by hand.

Yes, on those the basic pattern was airbrushed on using a stencil. Then the details were hand painted.

I have LOTS of different stencils so they will often look similar but not be exactly the same.
