ParticipantHey, all. I was trying to look back through forum posts for a picture I am having no luck finding. It was of Ms. Melody’s work station, and she had a progress picture of a standing hippogriff colt. Does anyone else remember this? If anyone has it handy, would they mind sharing it again? I’m beginning to doubt myself and think it was a “wishful thinking” dream!

ParticipantI’m thinking that photo showed the standing kirin, but you might be right.

ParticipantOh! That is not the one I thought I saw, but that is still awesome! Thank you so much for looking and sharing, Etruscan. I think you might be right.. I might be thinking of the standing kirin. But it seemed so real!

ParticipantBigCatKeeper you are correct! I saw it recently also. It was a post she did a few years ago. I saw it when looking through old posts one day. I just can’t remember if I saw it on the forum or Facebook posts. She did mention in the photo that she couldn’t quite get the proportions correct.
When/if I find it again I will post the photo here π

KeymasterThis is another hippogriff ma I just started last week. Ears aren’t finished so they look too big and blobby. I ran out of Sculpey so I’ll finish the wings and stuff when I get more. The first hippa-ma sculpt that Drag0nfeathers is referring to was a bit too large, and had eagle front feet that looked dumb. Gonna stick with paws.

ParticipantI think the proportion problem with the standing one is because lions have shorter legs in proportion to their bodies than horses do. Maybe you should try using cheetah legs as a reference instead since it is a longer legged cat.

in order to cast these, the legs need to be stout as possible!
