Thanks everyone for the wonderful compliments!
96037 I use a light box with a black velvet backdrop as it absorbs a lot of light and any folds visible are easily edited. I should do a “How to photograph your PYO’s” tutorial, but I don’t know if I can get permission by the admins to make it Sticky?
Sure – just PM me when you post it so I don’t miss it! 🙂

Yes yes yes to this tutorial!!! Photographing my PYOs is the bane of my existence. Everytime I have to do it it groan cuz I know that the pics will suck, all the colors will show wrong, lighting will be terrible etc etc etc
This is a stunning Uni. You did an amazing job on the detailing.

I second, triple and quadruple support this tutorial idea! Photographing is always frustrating for me too! Does it look better inside? With sun? Without sun? So many times I’ve just thrown my hands up and said, “Good enough!” So if you would be kind enough to post a tutorial on this, I would be among the many who would be most appreciative.

if you could make a tutorial, i’ll have to send you cookies. that would be awesome! I had a lightbox I had made from tissue paper(just what ihappened to had on hand around the house), it wasn’t the greatest box…. and then my cat jumped through the top one day and peeled all the paper off. I guess i needed a better box anyways

June 27, 2014 at 9:37 pm #914823AnonymousI have to admit the Kitty Griffin is freak’n adorable! I decided I wanted to reinvent my first color scheme Everglade on him…except he turned out a lot more purple than the neutral blues I was aiming for XD But he still looks great! And lives up to the new color’s name EverAmethyst. Semi-metallic teal with interference gold and purple for the shinies.
I’m accepting order requests to do a large batch of this sculpt (including the more neutral original concept where the only purple is the interference) for the month of September for $160 + shipping with variety in markings/eye and jewel colors of your preference. Just send me a note showing interest and I will put you on the list!

June 30, 2014 at 4:01 pm #914926Wewt another commission for Scathatch who grabbed my last unicorn for a Serval pattern.
She sports intense purple interference on her spots!
Woo hoo!!!! She’s here! Oh, happy days! 🙂
She is spectacular (I expected nothing less) and the intereference on her spots is intense! Pictures (even yours) don’t do her justice. Maybe a big part of that is she’s sitting on my desk instead of looking out at me throught the computer screen?
I just love her. Thank you very much.
Life is beautiful.
July 1, 2014 at 4:35 am #914986The kitty grif is both cute and beautiful. The uni is very striking 🙂
