Nothing wrong with meeting online, that’s how I got into all my troubles.
REALLY????!!!!! :-~ That’s not really fair. “SOME” guys are jerks. I’m part of the 1% on here. 😎 I agree…nothin’ wrong with meeting people online. 🙂
Great for you and Matt to have found each other … and Bonus for liking the same things, finishing each other’s sentences, etc….
They say that opposites attract, but you need something in common (likes, hobbies, beliefs) to be be true friends and stay together in the long run. If you are too opposite you can butt heads and those will be the type of ‘sparks’ that will fly – not the good kind!

I always find it amazing when guys dump their girlfriends and tell them some sort of BS like your former bf in not wanting to have to deal with a gf back home when he’s in the Navy. He didn’t want to deal with you because he obviously found someone more to his liking. [Don’t worry–want goes around comes around]
But I’m happy for you and as far as meeting him on a dating site–I sometimes feel that has its good points–you communicate a bit to see what you have in common and also if he has enough intelligence to write comprehendible sentences! Whatever works!
