Irony is what I would call it…or maybe karma.
Personally I would recommend that you give them the same patience and understanding that you expected from me regarding the sale of your item. First it was extending the end date over and over and then you just changed your mind about selling it and pulled the add…without even a quick message to me saying you changed your mind and are not going to sell it. Especially after I asked you for some sort of response…you can’t demand courtesy when you won’t give it yourself.
If you have a score to settle, it should be done in private.
June 20, 2012 at 12:21 am #882084Wow, harsh words. I haven’t decided what to do with my lap dragon yet. I said clearly in the classified ad when I listed it that I wasn’t guaranteed to sell it. The classified ads are not ebay ads that end at a specified time. You can reset the expiration date at any time. The reason for the expiration date as I understood it was that old listings wouldn’t be kept up there forever, NOT because it’s a strict auction end time. I’m sorry to keep you waiting but I’m only selling him because I’m low on cash right now and I might be forced to. I lost my job and I’ve been under and incredible amount of stress right now, for many different reasons which I won’t get into at the moment. As for the pictures, I am not the one who is going to get screwed, I’m trying to make sure no one else gets screwed by buying something that is not represented in the pictures. I thought from your email that you were understanding of my position but I guess your patience has run out. I’m sorry for putting you through any distress.
June 20, 2012 at 3:06 am #882097The only point I was trying to make was that you are all stressed out that someone won’t respond to your questions/comments. Communication was all I asked of you, but you didn’t respond to me either. Just noting the irony…
And yes, Littleironhorse – you are correct. I should not do this in public. For that I apologize to Fairyhearted and anyone else.
June 21, 2012 at 12:10 am #882150This really sucks FH 🙁 I dont have anything to offer but my sympathy, it really really sucks when stuff like this happens. I hope that they get taken down before the auction ends!

Following is his response:
“Hi thanks! I can email you actual photos of the dragon, At the time I had no camera and needed to post it quickly so used photos I found. I intended to upload them to ebay and remove the others but ebay will not let me change the photos sadly. Is there an email address I can email the photos to? The one I have looks exactly the same and in great condition =)”
So apparently E-Bay won’t let him change the pictures? I assume he is telling the truth, but I have never sold anything on E-Bay so I don’t know.
June 21, 2012 at 7:40 pm #882177I’m thinking that, once bids are placed, he cannot change the photos he uploaded. However he can add the new photos and add a note. But, I’m pretty sure, no changes can be made in the last 24 hours.
June 21, 2012 at 7:40 pm #882178That’s true that you cannot remove pictures from a listing once it’s active (I just tried) – so it seems like ebay is the one being slow here, although it is strange and unsettling that the seller wouldn’t respond to FH but did to you!

That’s no excuse, being in a hurry does not give anyone the right to use someone else’s property.
Furthermore, if he was going to do this, he should have at least specified that the pictures were not of the actual item being sold. You see these kinds of notes all the time.
He is telling the truth about being unable to remove anything from the listing, but like others have mentionned, he can certainly add to it up until the last 24 hours. And fairyhearted did contact him long before that.
All in all, a feeble justification from this seller.
June 21, 2012 at 9:18 pm #882187seems shady to me, not replying to the owner of the pics but then someone else? weird…
4 things I'm looking for:
1. Mother Meerkat
2. production color Sitting Young Oriental dragons to be made in more colors besides VF, Brimstone would be awesome!
3. Female Griffin – Siamese with White
4. September Raffle Prize 2022 AHD Male GriffinJune 22, 2012 at 8:12 am #882227That’s no excuse, being in a hurry does not give anyone the right to use someone else’s property.

Yes, and all it does is cast a negative suspicion on honest eBay sellers. The ad could have been changed in the “ask a question” section if he would have made his response to TallCool1 public. He chose not to do so, which to me indicates deception on his part. 🙁

Not weird or surprising at all… One is a person who will potentially give him money, the other is a person holding him accountable for less-than-honest listing practices. Who he does and doesn’t respond to is a reflection of the character we’re dealing with here.
