I think three batches of fantasy, natural and autumn/lichen is a great idea. Of course I am sure it is more work though. The natural ones may be less work instensive than fantasy so priced differently, thinking like the hatching Pegasus. The people buying them will know for sure they will get something they like and will cut down on trading expenses for those out of state. I dont care for autumn/lichen pattern ones as much so if they were put with fantasy it would be a gamble.
Dividing them up into types is sometimes hard, like which batch would a fantasy colored zebra with autumn leaves go?
October 5, 2018 at 11:35 am #1543458That would be difficult 🤔. I guess ask the unicorn what it most idenitfies with 😁
October 5, 2018 at 11:56 am #1543460My daughter was asking about which one I would pick and I told her about the dilemma. She said it was like the dinosaur from Jurassic World that they made. She didn’t know what she was, a puffer fish or frog or raptor.

In general, this is how I see it breaking down:
Naturals – normal horse or other animal (safari) colors
Fantasy – anything not Natural
Autumn Leaf – when the primary design revolves around a leaf motiffYou do tend to make “standout” pieces in the grab bags that overlap categories, which you might just want to throw up your hands and roll them into the Fantasy category. Such as in the example you provided: I would toss it into Fantasy because it’s not a regular natural and it would be too vibrant to classify as an Autumn Leaf. Traditionally the Autumn Leaf ones have been more low-key, using a black base rather than something fancy. (Although that’s an idea, eh? Doing autumn leaf silhouettes where autumn colors are the base and the designs are black silhouettes/negative space of leafy designs. Might be interesting.)
Another example are the Naturals that have flower saddles or swirls. Again, I’d put it into Fantasy, if only because it’s not plain. Naturals are just as they are–natural in the wild, whether that’s a horse, a tiger, or a snow leopard.
October 5, 2018 at 1:56 pm #1543463To answer Melody’s question of where would a fantasy colored zebra with autumn leaves go? Simple, right into my shopping cart! LOL. I do agree with Rylorien’s categories.
Always looking for a lovely GB Young Unicorns, TP Male Dragons or TP Male Griffins!
October 6, 2018 at 6:37 am #1543475Haha, Bodancia!
I agree with Rylorien’s breakdown and categories as well. (very well observed and written Rylorien!) I would categorize the Autumn Leaf as the more low-key, black-based ones as well. Anything with a more vibrant base color and not the traditional black, green, yellow, orange, red Autumn Leaf colors would likely fit better into the fantasy category, regardless of patterning.
.*ºSearching for Spectrals and Rising Spectrals in all patterns and colors!º*.
October 9, 2018 at 3:39 pm #1543560so will there be a livestream of the GBBs?
4 things I'm looking for:
1. Mother Meerkat
2. production color Sitting Young Oriental dragons to be made in more colors besides VF, Brimstone would be awesome!
3. Female Griffin – Siamese with White
4. September Raffle Prize 2022 AHD Male GriffinOctober 10, 2018 at 5:28 am #1543569I would think Melody maybe wouldn’t do that many autumn leaves so I think a few mixed in with the fantasy batch would be okay. Maybe some vibrant leaf ones would be nice to see! I wouldn’t consider the safari to be like normal horse colours as they can be fancy and a bit complicated to paint too. So I am thinking a safari batch would be just straight safari animals like the colts we had and fantasy would be everything else that’s colourful or crazy!
Looking for rainbow or pink & teal grab bags!
October 10, 2018 at 10:13 am #1543577I had some catagories in my head in the past: natural ( natural horse markings and colors) safari ( tigers giraffes, and mixed animal patterns in natural colors), supernatural ( animal patterns but with added fantasy colors), and fantasy, which includes candy corns, paint barf, and magic mushroom. Rainbow zebras with autumn leaves bridge a couple catagories.
I’ll just divide them into two groups; natural colors and fantasy colors. The natural ones can include normal horse colors.
And Zebra sharks.
And cuttle fish.
Anything goes in the fantasy batch.

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.October 11, 2018 at 1:19 am #1543595Okay I know Windstone can’t please everyone but please can we not have normal horse colours mixed in the safari batch? Please can we just have a straight safari batch? I have been waiting years for these but if I want to try and get a safari one it’s because I want a safari animal like a wild cat, not a normal horse colour or any other non safari animal. Normal horse colours or anything in simpler patterns should be in a separate batch.
