do you guys like the sterling on the beak and talons- do you think sterling on his rear would be too much shine? I can’t make up my mind!

I like the sterling where it is. I think it may be a bit much on his lower half… but what about something similar to that burnt bit in the copper highlights? Burgundy, or a dark coppery color? Not sure what would be quite right, since I don’t have it in front of me, but the idea might be nice.

hmmm- that is a good idea- I will take a closer look and see if I have a similar paint color to something in the leafing

I think if you did his bottom half in silver that he might look like a statue… although that might make for an interesting story… I think I would go with what Maebnus3 said…

I was going to suggest a black matte or some other soft dark color for his fur side to make it contrasting and really bring out his shiny feathers!

Thanks I think he wwill be finished tonight! Freaking leaf is such a pain some times! My painting desk is near my airconditioner- leaf goes flying everywhere when it is on- but it I turn it off I am sweating to death! 🙄

i finally got to see the image. it looks really interesting. is the leafing not completely on it? it looks like it has flakes on it. i cannot wait to see it when it is done.

geeze! that was fast! no one probably got to see him 🙂 Once I get the pics smaller I’ll add them to the gallery- the program I use to make pics smaller is messed up grrrrr
