I had lots of breyers(still do) All kinds of other horse figurines, stuffed animals, some box games like Don’t spill the beans, hands down, tip it, of course monopoly. I had Tonka trucks too, lots of Hot wheels and Matchbox cars. I never liked dolls but I did have those trolls! πŸ˜†

Tons of stuffed animals until my doctor told my parents that they were causing my asthma. Boxes and boxes of Lego…tons of books.

All kinds of horses, stuffed animals, Barbie, all kinds of little plastic dogs…lots more. I played with the horses the most.

Well I grew up in Burma (Myanmar), and we really didn’t have a Wal-Mart or a Toys R Us there, so I ended up making most of my toys also.

One of my coolest memories of growing up 3rd world is just flying kites all day long. I used to make diamond shapped kites out of old newspapers (propaganda rags) bamboo, and rice paste. Summers, after lunch I would just let my kite up and watch it bob and weave in the pale blue sky, until I fell asleep. Many times I wake up near twilight, and I would feel my kite struggling on the string, but couldn’t see it because of the dark. Sometimes my kites would drift away, perhaps with one of Melody’s dragons, but strangely I never felt a sense of loss. I just remember the freedom that I felt, just running around barefoot, with nothing but paddies and echos around.

I had lots of chickens and ducks also, and I sometimes play with them. My dad and I would also make paper planes and throw them back and forth. We didn’t have frisbees or footballs there πŸ˜† We also have these rubberband battles, which made my mom furious. Good memories… πŸ˜€

I had – and still have – quite a few Breyers. I played with Legos for a while, and for one year I got into MLP. I got over that real quick, though, and gave them all away.

Hey! one of my uncles was born there! πŸ˜€

I played with my little ponies, transformers, lego, hotwheels cars and my stuffed animals.

One of the best menories is of stealing the downspout pipes and creating “waterslides” for hotwheels and any other toy that would fit down the pipe. Dad also build us a huge sandbox, a playhouse, let us dig/excavate in the garden and would make the best “slip ‘n slides” out of construction poly, a couple of tent pegs and the garden hose.:D As kids we used to live outside in the summer and even most of the winter!

We used to do exciting stuff like play board games, listen to music, walk our dogs, ride bikes, turn on the tv, flip through 13 channels and turn it off again, etc;) For a while we played with Dawn dolls, but ours mostly fought and “cussed” at each other. lol My favorite thing to do was read…the library was like a candy store. There were two neighborhood boys that entertained us a lot, too. They made up stories and told jokes, etc. The funniest thing they did was cut holes in a couple of basketballs and put them on their heads. They had a couple of toy guns and pretended they were aliens invading earth. Maybe you had to be there….

I had lots of My Little Ponies, Breyers, and dinosaurs. They were called Dino Riders… if anyone else on here might remember them? They were posable dinos with armour and guns. They were really cool! I was soooo into dinos and horses when I was little. I think I only had 1 Barbie, a Shera doll, and a Jem doll. I wasn’t into dolls that much at all.

I had two Breyer horses, still do. I still have almost every toy I was ever given, because I never smashed or ruined any of them and never gave any of them away. Now that I’m 21, I find myself considering what I would part with. I have a Fraggle (Boober), a Puffalump, a Cabbage Patch Kid, a Wuzzle (Tycoon), stuffed bears and dragons, and of course a boxload of different horses. Everything from dollar store pastic ones to a remote controlled one that walked and tossed her head. My favorite horse was one of the generic posable plastic ones. He fell off a stone wall I was playing on and busted his leg, but Dad saved the day and glued it back on. His shoulder joint couldn’t move after that, I decided it was his “war wound” πŸ˜†

Have you guys noticed how many of our old toys are banned now? I’m not sure if it’s the same in the States, but even old metal toy trucks with sharp edges are banned here. You’d get in big trouble if you got caught selling them 😯

                  #616412

Considering how little our toys were regulated, compared to today, it’s amazing that we survived. πŸ˜†

My Little Ponies, Breyers, tons of little blown glass and ceramic unicorns and cats and dogs, Barbies, sketch pads & colored pencils, crafts. Oh yeah, and my cats…I’ve almost always had a cat…Except for a few years…Now I got 5! 😯 πŸ™„ (Lucky for me, they must have liked Windstones in their previous lives cuz they don’t knock them down, or mess with them. πŸ˜€ )
