Melody, I know you’ve gone for a friendly, genial look to your dragons and I love that they all have a slight smile, but would it really be so bad to have some look more fierce? It wouldn’t necessarily make them bad dragons…
I like and agree with this point entirely. I love that some of them have that Cheshire Cat smile appearance as if it just snuck a snack behind a castle. But I also believe dragons to be fiercely LOYAL and protective. Hence, I agree that some of their eyes could say, “hey, dont mess with my dragon or human horde, for I will fight you with all I have to protect my loved ones ::snort:: ” I think a little furrowed brow dragon would be cool as if he was look down his nose at you… and getting the ketchup bottle ready (that only makes sense if you know the saying- which most of you do).
And then Im torn because business is business and Melody knows how to do business obviously. She will have to make an executive decision. I’ll say this though- if I was the type to collect the entire family of colors, if the silvers had blue eyes, I wouldnt collect the family. But if they had lavender eyes, I would collect the whole family. But, like I said, since I cant afford families (and I prefer the other creatures of Windstone- tho I do love dragons, my wallet has to pick and choose), regardless of eye color, if it comes out in a CURL, I will buy it.
Good luck Melody- youve had oh so much feedback! We trust you and love you!
November 18, 2007 at 2:49 pm #637465I say if they look best with blue eyes then use blue eyes….I’m ok with the blue, especially with silver. 😀

I was kind of afraid to come out and say that in my last comment! But I 100% totally agree! I wouldn’t buy them if they had blue eyes.
November 18, 2007 at 5:14 pm #637467Have you tested to see what eye colour looks best with out the black around the eye? I’m afraid in today’s culture dark black around the eye is associated with the “emo” culture and possible drug use :-/
I’m perfectly happy with blue or lavender eyes 🙂

…um… what? I don’t think that having black around the eyes is a bad thing. And to be honest, all the emo kids I’ve ever known would never do drugs… so… Or anyone that does the black around the eye thing (…I don’t do drugs). Plus it’s a dragon. I hardly think anyone is going to think a dragon with black around the eyes is doing drugs… that’s really awkward… I don’t think the thought would have never come to mind had you not said it. 😕
I personally like the black around the eyes. It looks cool and it makes the eyes stand out.
(I’m not offended or angry, but I’m making a point since that was kinda sterotyping)
November 18, 2007 at 5:46 pm #637469Im with you. I never would have put the two together.
November 18, 2007 at 5:58 pm #637470I do kind of have to agree with DantheDragon. It black around the eyes really bothers me. They do look drugged to me. It is interesting that I see them this way because, yes, it is strange to be seeing that kind of attribute in a dragon.

Maybe because I’m use to it… since I’m part of the “goth” community and so I know some emos because of it, but the black around the eyes doesn’t look “drugged” to me. Something looking “drugged” to me is more like, blood shot eyes, or a distant look… or someone jumping out of their skin.
Oh, and everyone I know, goth or emo, has never done drugs. So I can’t associate wearing heavy eyeliner with drugs *shrugs* That’s just me I guess. So what about those girls that put a pound of eyeliner on? Do they look drugged out to you? *curious* A lot of models do that too… so…
November 18, 2007 at 6:38 pm #637473Please understand, it’s not because I’m stereotypying these types of people. I have nothing against them, and my stepsister is even into the goth look.
It’s kind of something personal that I’m not sure I should post on a public forum. It concerns someone close to me that has been put on so many pain meds that her personality has become rather warped. It’s upsetting to me, and the black around the eyes reminds me of the black around her eyes. Don’t ask why I make this association; I just do. It’s weird, I know.
November 18, 2007 at 8:34 pm #637474By the drugged part I more meant those dark bags underneath the eyes. I’ve never been around drug users before, but (yes, sterotypically) like in animation, if you wanted to hint that someone is a drug user wouldn’t you draw them tired and dark bags under the eyes? Or perhaps dark, sunken eyes?
I know that not everyone with dark bags around their eyes does drugs, or that black eyeliner doesn’t neccessarily mean someone is part of the emo culture, that’s just what the dragon reminded me of. :-/
I saw the silver dragons as brilliant knight dragons in shining armour, pure and valiant defenders, so to look at them and have my brain associate them with something so unlike what I imagined kinda shocked me 🙁
November 18, 2007 at 8:58 pm #637475Can you pre-prepare silver dragons with different set of eyes? So you would have boxed silvers with blue eyes (with clear label on it), with straw, lavender eyes…
Then you get the variety out, but without having to keep a cartful of eyeless dragon. Of course, you get to decide the quantities to prepare, and as you sell, you can see which one sells more.
I’m not in business, so I don’t know if my idea makes sense.

You mean like taking eye color preorders?? That would be pretty cool….And would solve the having them sit around on a cart waiting for eyes issue.
