That’s a very nice collection, Stephanie! And to think that’s not your whole collection!

I was so excited to see him again I yelled at Scott to “Come here! The Hawk Griffin is right on top and Center stage!!!” 😳 He laughed at me. XD
But, I do love that curio, it is so pretty with the wrought iron work in it! 😀
July 3, 2009 at 8:51 pm #654331That’s a nice collection, WSC, but I like what’s in your siggie more!

I’m suck a geek. 😀 Eleu bought me a Muse and had her shipped to me when I was going through a rough patch, and she wrote the sweetest note in the ‘customer notes’. Suzie highlighted it and I framed it.
😀
Awww, how cute =)

I bought her on Ebay – poor thing is missing her horn, yes. I have a replacement horn but need to send her to Kyrin for the, uh…install. I don’t trust myself to get the old glue out without damaging her head!
Thanks, everyone! 😀

Is it just glue or glue and horn base? If it’s just glue you can use a small pair of tweezers to gently work the glue out. I had to do that with my black male unicorn.July 4, 2009 at 2:14 pm #654335purpledragonclaw wrote:That’s a nice collection, WSC, but I like what’s in your siggie more!
Hee hee…That isn’t my collection. I couldn’t fit my collection onto 2 bookcases…I’ll have to snap a couple pics of how immense it has gotten in the last couple years. I have one whole room full of Windstones…Oh and a 125 gallon fish tank. 😮
But I love them all!Oh…My siggy…I have 21 PYO Griffins. 3 are painted by me, and 18 are by other members. I need to make a new siggy pic too! 😀 (I love doing one on one swaps with people willing to paint a Griffin for whatever they would like to have me paint. 😉 )
July 4, 2009 at 3:36 pm #654336Ooh, you have more Windstones, WSC? Yes, more pics please! 21 PYO Griffins! Do you collect the production ones too?

I have the black female, male, and croucher. Brown males (2), female, and croucher. The entire wolf family, and I really want one of the white females. But, I have a HUGE soft spot for other people’s works and those PYO Griffs. Those are also my favorite to paint, and I am constantly thinking of more ideas for them. I have 5 blank ones and all of them have ideas for them. 😮 (But, I could use one for the swap if I need one… 😀 *crosses fingers since stock is low*) I also have a unicorn blank…But, honestly I am scared to death of him…All fur? No feathers?!?! 😕
Oh, and at last count, I was somewhere around 200 pieces. I have GOT TO get some glass doors made for my bookcases and the entertainment center they inhabit…The wall shelves wouldn’t be so bad to dust. LOL I’m also working on adding a couple more right now. I got a young Oriental in Amethyst and I am going to be buying a Peacock Wizard Cat! I can’t wait to see them in person! *bounces*
July 4, 2009 at 10:05 pm #654338200 pieces?! Make that five or six pics! I haven’t seen a unicorn painted by you before, have you done one yet? And I love that you say they “inhabit” shelves, WSC; it makes them sound like living creatures!

*snorts with laughter* You did not frame that! LOL I was just admiring how you had your collection set up, I LOVE the way it looks and wish I could do some shelves like that (won’t work in my apt though) and wondering what the middle frame was 😳 Your collection looks awesome!

Thanks! I rotate the collection in the curio every once in a while! 😉 I like my curios too! 😀 I need more! lol

I was nervous too, but I gently pulled. I think I had a few smaller pieces that ripped off before the main “booger” came out (that’s what it reminded me of). I had no chipping or paint peeling with mine. Good luck with yours!

Give it a try if you’re feeling confident, it’s not too difficult. It’s a little harder putting the new horn in, because you need enough glue in there to fill the horn hole all the way to the top when the horn is pushed in. You don’t want to use too much though, or it oozes out.
When I replaced my male Kirin horn, I used Bond 527 glue, which is now apparently called Beacon 527. It’s my absolute favorite craft glue. It’s almost as strong as super glue, yet has a tiny bit of elasticity even when it’s fully cured, not brittle at all. That teeny bit of stretch lets the bond take the occasional knock, tug, or twist without coming loose. Highly recommended. I squirted a tiny bit down in the hole, then put the horn in to see how far up it would ooze. I was able to pull the whole horn out and keep adding a little more till the right amount was in there. The new horn’s still going strong.
