I am still so humbled by the gift that I try to refrain from asking about any more pink dragons (Or anything else, for that matter π .) If they come, I most certainly will buy them, but if not… I will just buy the others. I love them all.
August 7, 2007 at 1:58 pm #606383Me too!!! And I have a lot of production ones to catch up on!! π

For real! I am still paying on my layaway! π
August 7, 2007 at 2:05 pm #606385Yep…there are plenty of things to keep us out of (or in) trouble!! π
August 7, 2007 at 2:59 pm #606386I love the pink color too, but if it were sitting on a store shelf, I don’t think to would be as eye-catching as the darker colors.
This brings up something I’ve been wondering about. Since there’s been like a 10-12 year gap in which I’ve been collecting Windstones, I’ve missed out on several colors that seem to have come and gone. I was wondering if there was a thread that explained the process of how a new color is picked, either for prototypes or production.

I don’t think there is a real process. Colors are retired for any number and combo of reasons.. if they: don’t sell well or, the painters get tired of painting them or, Melody gets sick of the color or, they need to retire a color to replace it with a new color or, random reason #545.
The color selection process tends to be about the same. Is it hard to paint? Do they think it’ll sell well? Do they like it better than an older color? etc.Though Melody can go into specifics if she pleases. π

August 7, 2007 at 4:45 pm #606389I’ve come to this thread late, but I just want to say that I would buy a curlie or a baby Kirin in the shell pink color. Either one would be cute!
August 8, 2007 at 12:22 am #606390I’m late to this one too but I wouldn’t mind a lap or a fledgie. π
While hiding somewhere in my head I'm on the lookout for white oriental dragons! Please let me know if you know of any available. Thank you!
August 8, 2007 at 1:49 am #606391the only rhyme or reason to Windstone Colors are that Melody and company talk about it and make decisions at the drop of a hat. They do not plan or comtimplate things. One day they are here the next they are gone so get them while you can. Of coures as mentioned selling records and such come in to play but for the most part it seems to me to be a gut feeling more then anything else
August 8, 2007 at 2:22 am #606392I would go for a pink curlie, if not something a bit bigger. I think it’s a lovely color and Ski is very lucky to have her scratcher: -)
As far as squeaking for things, I think Melody would be more concerned if she wasn’t hearing it. She isn’t under any obligation to make anything we ask for, but at least she knows we are out here, willing to spend our money. If we are all fully satisfied someday, how is she going to pay the mortgage? π π
August 8, 2007 at 2:25 am #606393hmmm….good point. π
