Ok… I’ve gotta. ^.^ Shameless plug… full speed ahead! π
I have several horses that I painted on ebay. π One of which is for a donation to our Live Show… Jewel Heist Live… which is scheduled to be held in two weeks! π

So check them out… LMK what you think… etc. ^.^
February 5, 2007 at 4:42 pm #489549February 5, 2007 at 5:17 pm #535893Those are really cool. I like: NEW Nokota mold CMed to GORGEOUS Dunalino the best.
February 5, 2007 at 5:20 pm #535894Thhose are really incredible!! I saw a reserve on the paint. What do they usually go for?
February 5, 2007 at 5:33 pm #535895Well Ski… the only reason that one has a reserve is because I have a good friend who wants him… but can’t afford him till March. So I told her I’d put a reserve of what I want out of him… that way if he didn’t meet the price I wanted… she could have another shot at him. ^.^
Though… it looks like he’s gonna make it… π― Two days into the auction and he’s almost there…
It really depends on horses… the three I have up there (the Nokotas and the chestnut pony) are BRAND NEW molds by Breyer. Right now they are hot… everyone wants them… and not many retailers have them to buy from the factory… let alone customize.
So they (the two Nokotas at least) will probably go over $100… if not closer to $200. One has sold for $235 so far… And the pony will probably stay close to $100… I hope. Unless someone decides they really want her. ^.^
But thanks you guys. I had SO much fun painting the Nokotas… OMG I want more of that horse so bad! I love his action… he’s GORGEOUS!
Love the sculptor too… Kathleen Moody… she lives in Phoenix. she’s a sweetheart π
February 5, 2007 at 5:36 pm #535896The Nokotas are gorgeous.

Love the sculptor too… Kathleen Moody… she lives in Phoenix. she’s a sweetheart π Thanks for explaining! I was just curious cuz it was only the one with the reserve. I put in a bid on the other. I really like it, though I doubt I will get it. I didnt realize what these guys go for π I can see it, though. Beautiful work.
February 5, 2007 at 6:05 pm #535898I saw that. π
Good luck Ski! Who knows… maybe you’ll win him. ^.^ Though there are LOTS of watchers now…. π―
I love watching bidding wars… π
MAN I can’t wait to get more bodies of that guy… he is definately my new favorite Breyer mold… (after Brighty of course! :D)
February 5, 2007 at 7:01 pm #535899Okay. I’m gonna put my “not so bright” hat on…
What is LSQ?
And where do you get the blank bodies? I like the dunalino the best. Very nice.February 5, 2007 at 7:37 pm #535900Phoenix wrote:Okay. I’m gonna put my “not so bright” hat on…
What is LSQ?
And where do you get the blank bodies? I like the dunalino the best. Very nice.π LSQ is Model horse terminology… just like CM or PSQ. ^.^
LSQ = “Live Show Quality” Meaning the horse is painted well enough to win in a Live show… Live shows are things we go to… and compete. You assign the horse a breed (in this case probably a Mustang) and it is placed in a class of mustangs. A Judge then judges the class based on the model’s conformation, and the quality of the paintwork. More detailed paintjobs, and ones without flaws, will place higher. ^.^ It’s hard to define. ^.^
PSQ = Photo Show Quality. Basically the same thing, only you submit photos of your horse to a show, and they are judged based on how you present the model. Often times… a horse that is PSQ will have flaws… but flaws that can be hidden and/or won’t show up in a photo… π
And CM = Custom. A horse that has been Customized from it’s original form… be it by repositioning… or just painting.
Me… I haven’t actually repositioned or resculpted horses yet. I just repaint. ^.^
And as for bodies… they arent’ really blank.
The two Nokotas started out as this guy…
And the pony was this guy:
So I buy them in those colors (or whatever is available from Breyer) and then paint over it. ^.^
But first sanded down the visiable seams from the factory production on them both… carved out ears, nostriles and hooves… and repainted them. ^.^
That’s what I love abotu PYOs so much… they HAVE no seams… so I don’t have to sit there for hours making sure I’ve got tehm all smoothe! π They are MUCH faster to paint! At least in that respect. ^.^
I hope that helps! π
February 5, 2007 at 7:41 pm #535901That’s interesting info, lady. Thanks for sharing. The ones you customized look great. I love the Nokotas, but I don’t need to start collecting something else. lol
February 5, 2007 at 7:50 pm #535902HA HA!
I started with horses… and now I’m getting BACK into these bloody Windstones! AHHHHHH!!!! π
A friend of mine just noticed the brown mother I won on ebay a few weeks ago… he’s all “I don’t remember this one! I like her!” ::snickers:: Still haven’t decided what I’m gonna do with her… keep her… or repair her for sale/trade…. π
February 5, 2007 at 7:53 pm #535903Very interesting. Thanks for sharing! I may try to paint one someday. Like I really need to start more projects!
What type of paint do you use?February 5, 2007 at 8:27 pm #535904Phoenix wrote:Very interesting. Thanks for sharing! I may try to paint one someday. Like I really need to start more projects!
What type of paint do you use? That’s how I feel about the PYOs! I already have so MANY Nekkid Model horses…. I don’t need Windstones clogging it up too! And yet… I still do it! HA HA!
I use the same stuff I do on the PYOs… Pastel dust and acrylics. π I started off painting model horses… so I’m more comfortable with pastels on them. π But I’m getting it! π
February 6, 2007 at 1:18 am #535905So I have a nekkid Anuk su Namun, Sabir 2, Abu Asaalah, Jasmine, and possibly a Antar. How much is a dun paint job?
