I hope some of you know who he is. He was a wonderful fantasy writer who wrote great humorous novels:
His main character in the Myth Inc. series even has a dragon named Gleep.
The following quote is from his ex-wife’s, Lynn Abbey’s blog:
“Robert Asprin died yesterday afternoon. A peaceful death, by all accounts, dozing on a sofa with a Terry Prachett book still open in his hand.”
I loved his Myth Inc. fantasy series and his Phule scifi series. These books were a riot. He will be missed.
May 24, 2008 at 5:47 am #706991Awww!! I’m saddened by this news. His books are a treasure of mine and I will always look back in fondness to the first time I read the Myth Inc. series with my father.
Thanks for sharing.
RIP 🙁May 24, 2008 at 1:34 pm #706992OMG! Was he old? Sick? I honestly know nothing about him. I do have one of his books that my daughter gave me for my birthday one year (and she just picked it because it had a dragon on the cover). I’ve only read it once, and if I recall, Gleep was just at the beginning of his “career”. I really enjoyed the book…
Yet another great imagination gone!
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

May 24, 2008 at 4:24 pm #706994Awww, man! *hunts for tissue to wipe sniffles* I love his work and will miss him terribly…. 😥

May 24, 2008 at 4:54 pm #706995😥 😥 I love puns so of course I loved his work. 😥
May 24, 2008 at 5:24 pm #706996He was also involved with the ElfQuest series, and I loved those.
I have all of his Myth series, except maybe one or two.
Sad he passed, but it sounds like it was peaceful and quick. Going with a book in your hand is a good way to go. That would be my choice, especially if I was a writer.

He was so clever 🙁June 1, 2008 at 3:26 am #706998I missed this too. How very sad. He’ll be missed. 🙁
April 5, 2010 at 5:11 pm #706999Wow. I had no idea. I really loved his work in the Thieve’s World series.
