I dunno what I’m allowed to share, I heard about this in a bit more detail and these guys seem like they were pros, probably with a network considering some of the other things they did.

Sadly I think there’s little chance that they’ll see any of ther things agian but we’ll keep hope!

Ah. So it’s possible these may turn up somewhere else entirely? How annoying. But in any case, in a way it’s better that they were pros, because I’d think they would be less likely to toss them in the trash and have them be gone forever.

You know, thinking of it this way- Windstone just lost thousands of dollars in sales because one master sculpture is gone. And God only knows how long it took Melody to make the lion Ki-Rin. Thousands…

Ah, but if they research and realize that they have hot items that they may not be able to sell due to them being so unique and recognizeable, they may just trash them. Hard to say. πŸ™

Is there not going to be a way to somehow recreate the master then? I mean… they’ve got to have lots of winged wolves hanging about. The Master itself is cast in the first place, isn’t it?

          #510311

I would imagine that the master was melody’s original, that the mold would have been made from, where as the lion kirin was a cast one from the looks of the pic.

Oh Man! I’m so sorry to hear that stuff was stolen, but at least no one was hurt.

Shelties make good alarms. Their bark sounds like a much larger dog (they had to be heard over the sea and wind). If something changes in their vicinity, you will definitely know about it. They aren’t very big either.

Peacocks were also used as alarms for palaces.

Vantid, do be careful about staying at the house. If it hasn’t been done already, call the local police. They usually are willing to swing by that area a bit more often, especially with the holidays

Do check out the pawn shops. You never know what you will find.

Good luck on things being found. I’m on the East Coast so I doubt things will turn up in this area, but I’ll keep my eyes open on ebay.

Well, yes, that’s what “master” means in the world of sculpture. I guess I wasn’t too clear with my question.

What I was asking was if it’s possible to recreate the master by casting another one from the molds they have, going backwards, so to speak. Since from all I’ve read about the process that Melody uses, the master IS actually cast. (Melody works on several versions of the sculpture, which are re-cast after each set of refinements to them, until one final master is made from her last version of the sculpture.)

Because if recreating the master possible then the loss is a setback, but not a disaster. But if it’s NOT possible, then the wolves we all just ordered are the only copies of that sculpt that there will ever be. (Admittedly that would do marvelous things to their value for us, but it would truly suck for Windstone and Melody, so I’m hoping not!)

Reading back a page, Melody mentioned it was the “large winged wolf” that was taken. I’m guessing that’s the one which had it’s nose eaten off in sculpey form.
So it’s not the little PYO wolves everyone just purchased. πŸ™‚

But it’s still a big loss..

Ah! I see. Though in a way that’s worse, given that there may not be any copies of the large wolf at all.

There are, the one she did in sculpey. It’s a lot of time lost, but it’s not a complete loss.

We have scads of peacocks, they just eat food. XD

The nighbors next dorr parked their truck in front of the house and I have been sleeping over their. During the day it’s been fine, and tonight Thornwolf will be over to keep company until we both leave on Thursday to San Diego. The house will be empty and ungaurded, but no one will get hurt. :3

All this talk of yappy dogs….we do have an emu you know. She’s in love with me and I know she’d give her life for me. πŸ˜€

Melody’s family was just passing through on their way up to OR… they unfortunately had to be there ASAP for some pressing issues and wouldn’t have had time for a side trip. They were only in Stockton as a very brief hotel stay at 2am.
