Windstone collector in remission. 😉
November 20, 2006 at 12:59 am #510279They (whoever they are) say a dog is better than any security system. But things can be replaced – people can’t. So please be careful!
November 20, 2006 at 1:01 am #510280OMG, that really sucks a lot! My cousin’s jewerly shop was broken into twice recently. Some people are so cruel and heartless. 🙁 .

They are security people, I was one, a barking dog will cause more theives to leave than a security system. This is because a security system has to call the dispatch center, which inturn call the police dispatch, who then call the police. All of this take a few minutes, then there is a responce time, criminals know this and if they can get in and out within 5 minutes they are likely to not get caught. Also as most, like 99.9%, security systems do not have a cell phone back up, if a criminal cuts your phonelines outside the house a security system can do absolutly nothing about it.
Where as a dog is there, and criminals do not know if they bite or not, most are unwilling to take the chance of getting bitten. I mean if you have a toy breed with a small high pitched bark, it will not deter most criminals. But anything with a low deep bark will. Expecially if you dont have those “beware of my minature schnauzer” type signs. It is also better, if you have smaller dogs, to not have them visable from the door, if a criminal can see your smaller dog they may try to incompasitate the dog before breaking in.
November 20, 2006 at 2:12 am #510282mine isn’t as significant and I’m sorry to hear that people are a$$’s- my wallet was stolen from my work’s locker room and nothing’s been uncovered as of yet.
November 20, 2006 at 2:24 am #510283Money stolen can hurt, but losing art…. I had my entire portfolio stolen once. I’d had an art presentation in class, so not only did I have my physical portfolio of originals in my backpack, I had the zip disk with the scans of them all there as well. It was the only day in my ENTIRE LIFE that the portfolio and the scanned backup had been in the same bag, and that was, of course, the day said bag got stolen.
Still pissed off about that. Especially as whoever stole it got NOTHING of value save the art, and it’s not like they could have gotten any money selling that.

AMEN!
My first *and so far only* painting that made it into a real Gallery show was stolen the day after the show. The paintings were stacked in the back waiting to be taken home *mine included, and someone took off with it.
AND it was a FOUR foot by FOUR foot painting! Not something you can just tuck under your shirt.
I had a buyer lined up and everything…but the gallery claimed they were not libel because of a sign in the back warning that all art left in dock…blah blah blah, your problem.
I was out of a painting…that is what hurt the most.November 20, 2006 at 2:52 am #510285That’s so sad people can be so incredibley cruel all for money or items they just can’t afford with money…so they steal..
One day, karma will hit them over the head and they won’t recover~
November 20, 2006 at 3:35 am #510286Vantid! That’s terrible! 😥 I would definatly call the cops and let them know what happened, quietly let them know you’re home alone, maybe they can keep special watch on the house (or the factory if the factory is close to the house)
I can’t belive someone would do something like that! I hope they get caught and I hope they get what’s coming to them 👿
I got the vibe that the Lion Kirin was very special and personal to Melody, I had a very special and personal painting stolen from school last semester, I cried over it, and it didn’t take near as long as Mel’s statue to complete. *offers hugs*
That’s kind of humurous though that you grabbed a peacock OW. If it really had been robbers and you knocked em out, we’d all have another excuse for buying more dragons; “BUT THEY SAVED SOMEONE’S LIFE!” They’d be like beautiful little gaurd dogs you don’t have to feed 🙂
I hope they do pawn the stuff off, because that gives all of us a chance to find it. If they keep it or think its worthless (the unfinished statues) they might just destroy them and, well gosh I hope they dont do that! 😥
November 20, 2006 at 3:59 pm #510287That totally sucks that 3 sculptures were stolen. I will definately keep an eye out for them.
It kind of sounds like the day I had yesterday.
I invited family to my house for a early Thanksgiving dinner.
I got everything cleaned and started to make the ham. My mom calls and says she needs to bring the turkey over and put it in the oven.
1- I don’t like to cook
2- My mom just surprising me and saying by the way was totally incovenient.
3- She told me that she would be back before everyone arrived.I was watching the turkey and the thermomter wasn’t popping up. I called my mom and she wasn’t picking up the phone (I didn’t know what the hell I was doing). Needless to say that she wasn’t there when she said she was going to be. The rest of the family was there and dinner wasn’t ready so my mom started yelling at me. My bf was upset on how she was talking to me so he just avoided everyone.
Families…miss them, want to be around them, but then they cause more stress in your life.
Sorry…I had to vent… 👿 🙁

The crappy thing is that the theives now have the house address and might come looking for an empty house. >:C
Last night I heard loud knockings on the front door at 11.30. I grabbed the first thing I could find…a peacock old warrior prototype. I paused oustide of chessie’s room with thoughts of grabbing her sword, but I couldn’t remember if it was sharp or not, so I decided the dragon was pointy enough. XD
Turns out it was the neighbors coming to tell me the bad news.
I stayed next door over night just in case. The next morning I found out that a car parked in front of the house had been smashed into and things stolen.
Anyway, it’s unlikely that the things will show up on ebay but get the word out and your eyes peeled!
I will keep an eye out on Ebay. I hope thy find the jerks. I am so sorry. Im glad noone was hurt…Well, Im glad none of you guys were hurt..I hope the crooks slashed their wrists on broken glass and slowly bled out in a deserted alley way while rats gnawed on their limbs.November 20, 2006 at 4:39 pm #510289skigod377 wrote:vantid wrote:They took a violin, griffins laptop with all his flash animations on it, chessie’s bag with her sketchbook, and their suitcases of clothes.

November 20, 2006 at 10:02 pm #510290I am really sorry to hear about the losses….A friend of mine up in N Hollywood recently was broken into and the police said that there were several other places in the surrounding neighborhood that had been broken into as well. This was Sat night. The really freaky part was, we had just done a “Russian Gypsy Tarrot” reading on her and one of the things that came up was Theft time frame Immediate….45 min later she got the call…..
November 20, 2006 at 10:24 pm #510291that just sucks! i’m glad no one was hurt. to have someone steal your art work is like taking a piece of your soul. We will definitly keep watch for them, I just hope they don’t throw them away thinking they are worthless. 😡
