Man, I wish! I’m pretty sure they keep it. I think I’ll ask them about what happens to the damaged items though. I don’t understand why…it’s not like they’re going to do anything with them but throw them away. A girl I work with used to work at the post office, I’ll ask her tonight. If I do get to keep it, I’ll probably sell him to you, frozen. On display, he’s not too bad, minus his right ankle. (which I had planned on trying to re-sculpt)December 15, 2006 at 11:13 pm #513412ok…let me know….good luck….hope it all turns out ok
December 16, 2006 at 5:33 am #513413Eeek! Wolfenmachine, you are making us look bad here!
We stand behind all of our orders 100%. We insure items, or offer a replacement, or full refunds for broken or lost items. We take customer service very seriously.
Here is what happened with the Emperor:
Wolfenmachine bought the Emperor way back in August. Unfortunately, it broke despite the Windstone approved packaging and double boxing. Wolfenmachine called and told us it broke and asked what would happen if she filed a claim with the Post Office. My husband told her that the USPS would keep the dragon, and pay her, but that a replacement would be difficult to find. We paid to have insurance on the dragon, and even gave Wolfenmachine a discounted price to help her out. She saved a long time for it. She chose to keep the dragon, and was going to resculpt his foot. Now, she has decided to file a claim, which is certainly her right. That is why we insured packages, to give our customers such a choice.
When Charlie spoke to her today, he simply forgot that he had insured it for it has been months. A few hours later, he re-checked our records, and indeed we had insured it. I could not imagine him shipping such an expensive piece without insurance! He then went ahead and called her at her home, and left her the good news.
BTW, Wolfenmachine, I thought I was out of the Peacock Hatching Empress but I found one, and set it back for you. Go ahead and place your order…it’s yours!
😀December 16, 2006 at 9:26 am #513414Oh no! I don’t want to make you guys look bad 😳 honestly, your store is my preferred place to buy from BECAUSE of the customer service and everyone that works there is just really nice on top of being helpful.
Charlie called back tonight (unfortunatly I missed his call) but he left a message saying he was looking at the wrong sheet/page and that the dragon was insured (which I knew it was, and the post office knew it was too)
But no no, anyone reading, Magical Omaha is an awesome store. I have NOTHING bad to say about them, and I appologize if any of my other posts had even a negative twinge to them, because the negativity is 100% un-deserved.
ahh! Also, I’ll be re-sending payment for the empress, and thank you very much for holding her for me!

Agreed. But I would imagine some stores have their shipping set up a certain way and it might be hard for them to switch. For us regular folks though, I’ll never personally send USPS for anything fragile or heavy ever again. (Plus the UPS guy that comes to my house is good looking and roughly my age ;))December 16, 2006 at 9:34 pm #513421Nirvancat13 wrote:

Right beside mine in the gutter. 😆
December 16, 2006 at 10:33 pm #513422See, I don’t know about you guys, but for me, using UPS is a HUGE pain. I know I probably should sometimes, but… I don’t have a car, I can’t get to the place myself, I have to talk the boyfriend into taking me there, whereas he’s going to the post office once a week anyhow, and it’s not exactly conveniently located for me. And it costs more. And when I ship USPS I get a free box, because I always ship priority, and they have those priority boxes that you can just go and use, whereas with UPS I end up buying a box, which adds three or four dollars onto the cost. (Why boxes are so expensive, I do not understand.)
Also, if you ship USPS priority, rather than parcel post, your stuff not only gets there faster, but it gets treated a lot nicer, and with the free box thing it actually costs less than parcel post, unless you’re sending something huge and heavy.

Ditto.
