Dont worry, since I’m a one-person workforce it will be a slow but steady pace for me. I’m doing every step myself. I’m the sculptor, the mold-maker, the caster, and the painter! Whew!
I wanted one that would be similar to the first but very individual, she has a very royal demeanor, yet shy. Plus my detailing skills are getting better!
Holy smokes Purplecat! Your work is just too dang cute! What type of clay do you use for the sculpts? Do you use a wire base and model the clay over the top? Where did you find the eyes? Tons of questions… (sorry ) How are you making the mold and what medium will you cast in?… new snail dragon, jackalope, chirpmunk, original snail dragon… you’re quick and good and what a great imagination! I grovel at your feet…
I make a kindof aluminum foil sculpture base with wire if I need it and then slather on the sculpey! It’s truly awesome stuff and I plan on casting in a really dense plaster called dry-stone that I’m hoping will give a nice quality casting. It hasn’t arrived yet so that may change if I’m not pleased with the finished product.
I’m gonna be casting them and painting them for sale here soon. My casting and mold-making stuffs are on their way but there is still some refining yet to do before I get a “master” casting that I can keep for making multiples of. Just lemme know if you want one of any of these and I’ll put you on the list. However, I probably wont do copies of the jackalope until I figure how to cast him without his antlers being super fragile.
