I’ll keep the original but will be casting some to sell if the casting goes well…I’ll be doing it myself. Color/paintjob suggestions? 🙂
October 24, 2007 at 2:36 am #609979oooo awesome. mmmm. you could paint him so manny ways. i would say that the shell deffinately would need an interference look. like the look kind of like what abalone has would be so pretty.
October 24, 2007 at 3:26 am #609980OoOoOoOoo I like it! 🙂 The tail is just tooo cute!

EEEE! Can I call dibs on one?? Ooooh, spikey shell…I can’t wait to see that!

-J R R TolkienOctober 24, 2007 at 12:06 pm #609984Anybody here wanting one could most definately have first dibs! But it may take a while as I’m learning the hard way why it takes so long for new pieces to come out…I want him to be perfect and I keep re-working areas I thought I had done. Plus I’ve never made molds or cast anything before and I’m kinda counting on a couple screw-ups before they come out right. I saw a picture of a super spiky conch shell the other day and really like the idea of doing that kinda shell next. 😀
October 24, 2007 at 3:03 pm #609985How are you going to make a mold of him and what do you want to cast him in? He’s(she’s) dang cute!

October 24, 2007 at 3:56 pm #609986Purplecat, how awesome! I love his face! I would like to call dibs too 🙂 I hope the casting goes well for you, and for us 😆
October 24, 2007 at 4:08 pm #609987I haven’t gotten the stuff they’ll be cast in yet but it will be a really dense form of plaster similar to what windstone uses most likely. I’m still figuring out what method of silicone mold I’m gonna be using, this stuff is much more complicated then I thought! 😯 But once you get past “What am I gonna use?” it isnt going to be so bad I think. It’s just that there’s soooo much stuff out there and I have to figure out what will give me the best castings possible without costing a fortune! 😯 I think it will work out fine though! 😀 I’m learning more every day, and am enjoying every minute of it!
October 24, 2007 at 4:15 pm #609988That is wonderful, PC. I would take one, too. 😀
October 24, 2007 at 4:20 pm #609989Just post your interest in this thread or pm if you like, I can’t give any guarantees but I will put your name down for sure. Anyone know anything about how to get a very basic webpage set up? I just want a place to post what work of mine is for sale (so I can include framed sketchwork and other stuff too) and a portfolio of past work for people to browse. Nothing fancy, just the basics. 😀
October 24, 2007 at 6:00 pm #609990Oh, he is sooooo cute!!!
October 25, 2007 at 1:13 am #609991Ooh, PC, I love it! 😯 😀
A dragon snail- what a unique, interesting idea! Too cool!
I’d love to be on the ‘dibs’ list too, if possible. And one with a spikey murex-like shell- gotta see that. Though I love the moon snailish one! And his face is REALLY starting to come out great!
I keep on thinking of Ski’s pink scratcher and Nam’s Neptune for color ideas. Pearly irridescent soft colors, pinks and teals. Though look at sea slugs- there’s some wild bright color combos.
Have you thought of sea dragons for a sculpting idea also? I have some pics on my computer I’ll have to go find and edit in, I’ve never seen one done, and you’re good enough.Doesn’t Rusti do web design? She did a great job setting up a dummy opening page for the Windstone site, if I remember right.
