      Any printers here? I took a few courses in college, and did some ‘kitchen table’ printing this weekend. I’m frustrated by how much harder it is to get consistent prints without a press, but I started getting the hang of it after a while. I think you have to dial in the ink consistency really well to get it to print nicely by hand. I had a few that came out too dark and splodgy, and a lot that came out too light.

        Not all inks are equally useful, but the most important thing about them is the coloring agent, and everything else is secondary. Some inks use a water-soluble dye, while others use an insoluble pigment or something that reacts with the paper, which determines their most important properties. Here we go.
