I won’t be posting older PYOs here unless asked, as I have FINALLY figured out how to create a gallery.

I have had the idea to paint a mandarin dragonet aka mandarin goby for awhile now, honest I didn’t steal Gina’s idea! I got the small dragon for it last spring, and am finally nearing completion. He will be for sale, if interested PM me with an offer. I’ll post some progress pics as some people like them; as of tonight I have his base colors laid down and he’s been clearcoated/antiqued, I’ll put his stripes down over this. Maybe tomorrow or Tuesday I’ll have time to complete him?

First batch of photos are from a few months ago, first few layers of base coat.

Today I finished the base colors, first coat sealer, and antiqued it. Should be just the stripes left and final sealer coat! His eyes are red and his jewel is blue zircon. I’ll have to find some treasure for him if the buyer wishes.
Photos were taken before antiquing, I wanted to take them with the sunlight but knew I couldn’t finish the antiquing before sunset.

Mandarin Dragonette is done! All sealed and back in his box, ready to go to a new home. I will take offers on him. Don’t know if I can eBay him, with my terrible timing on choosing/finishing this theme so close to when Gina did one.

What a lovely rooster! I can’t get over how well Melody sculpts such tiny details like the fleshy bits around the face!
