Figures I missed out on the pink dragons. Will there be more before January?

How can someone else take something out of your basket??
The way most online shopping carts work is that even though something is in your basket, it’s not YOURS until you click ‘purchase’ or ‘buy’ and you pay. This is actually both to protect the store and future buyers. I know it may seem a little unfair, but if they were not set up that way, people could put something in their ‘basket’, leave the site, and not come back to pay for a while (if ever). If an item was put on ‘hold’ or pulled out of a store’s inventory each time someone put it in their basket without actually buying it, they’d not have any left to sell to the people that actually completed the transaction. I hope that makes sense! 🙂
Good to know in case I EVER buy something from a store on line again. Pay first shop later!!September 19, 2007 at 8:48 pm #618594Dragon Master wrote:Nambroth wrote:Dragon Master wrote:boskydragon wrote:🙁 I had one in my cart & by the time I hit checkout my cart was empty (under a minute). 🙁

Pay first shop later!!In a “normal” shopping experience, you should have enough time to shop the site and get everything at one go (although it’s happened to me on another site before, as I mentioned in another thread). With this site and so many people wanting the same thing, it makes a difference how quick you are.
September 19, 2007 at 8:50 pm #618595Augh!!! Ooooh, I hope they make more soon….. ;_;

September 19, 2007 at 9:07 pm #618597I am not a fan of pink but that looks great. Put me on the list for wanting one.
September 19, 2007 at 9:12 pm #618598Vapor, you have to send an email to Susie at susie@windstoneeditions.com to get on the list.
September 19, 2007 at 9:15 pm #618599GAH! I missed them!???
September 19, 2007 at 9:15 pm #618600I put it in my cart, then put a kirin in my cart, then edited the eye color and then checked out and found only the kirin. I was clicking so fast and never left the site, and the pink curlie was gone in that time (1 minute or less). 🙁 Ah well, there will be more and now I’m on the waiting list 🙂

Backing up what Nam is saying. Mom came in as I was looking at the pink curled and getting the link for DJ here (mom likies!- and shes not a dragon person). The thing maybe others are thinking about is adding something online at sites to your Wish List. I think those items can sit in their basket or section of a site for you. But as far as checkout basket items, they wont hold until you hit BUY.From the scenario here, it almost sounds like Bosky was shopping and getting ready to check out at the same time someone else was. When she hit Submit to get to her check out page, perhaps the other person had just hit it right before her and scooped the last piece so it returned a message of OUT OF STOCK to her. Make sense?
With all the cool fuss about the pink, theyll go back in stock soon enough Im sure! Again, not a pink fan and dont have money to jump at sparklies anyway, but this site main lines TEMPTATION! Thank goodness I cut up my credit cards a few years ago! Otherwise, Id DEF be in Windstone debt- without a doubt in my mind. Between finding the online store, to the LE/LP, to the Flea and eBay. Id be in big trouble cause once I get going, I dont stop. Ive learned but Windstones are easily my Achilles heel.
I think theres other stuff Id want first so I dont know that I would email Susie, but again, the pink is so different for Windstone (IMO), that she looks very tempting. But Id rather and plan to go for the Black Gold curl (would be my first curl) first as Im kind of in the “black” collecting phase. However, Im trying to sell my Windstones- not replace them! Im shooting myself in the foot but I havent done anything yet but drool so Im OK. For something I just helped mom with this week, which has been very trying and tough for her, she wanted to get me something and the black gold curl and coiled mama is what she settled on. Waiting on Susie-busy-bee to send me a total of what that would cost in addition to a certain PYO and shipping and then I can send out a MO since my comp is down and PPal is confused.
Tangent! :slink slink slink: 😳

Right… most of the time you don’t have to worry about things going out of stock so fast! But if you notice that something sells out quick (like around here) or if there is only one or two left in stock, yes- if you really want the piece, it’s best to check out right away. 🙂 Most of the time when shopping online though, things don’t sell out quite so fast…

Something new called “The Windstone Minute!”
There was a BIN on ebay – I forgot what – that sold out in 45 seconds, I think.
Selling the pink curl? Isn’t that selling something you don’t currently have?
Sorry I wasn’t clear. Back when Windstone used to put curlies, chicks, griffins up as BINs on ebay something and I don’t remember what went in either 45 seconds or 1 min and 45 seconds. I honestly don’t remember what it was (griffin chick? curlie?) but it was a feeding frenzy to end all feeding frenzies. People who had been sitting at their computer all day missed whatever it was if they were only refreshing every 2 to 3 minutes. And I think a couple of people who stopped to read the whole auction missed out too. Wish I could remember what it was for….someone must remember?

it was several different things….
I know there was one that it took less than 30 seconds for all of them to be gone…and people couldn’t grab any because everytime one would be purchased the auction would disappear for a second….
September 19, 2007 at 10:43 pm #618606Yay!!! Frozen grabbed a pink curlie for me!!! Thanks Frozen!!! You’re the best!!! 😀 (blows nice wet sloppy kiss) 😆
