I’m not using either it’s a terrible photo as far as color quality goes – came from my cell phone. For these guys my palette has only had blue, tan, cream and brown on it so on the tail feathers when it gets to the darkest blue and brown spots, i blend them directly and then add an extra bit of blue to the parts that look too greenish.

Alright so I’m done painting one of them – it just needs interference and the topcoat (and its eyes to be glued in of course!) – the second one is well on its way, should be done sometime tomorrow. Goodness, this has been more challenging than I thought it would be! I love painting these birds but after a while you just ache to do something else my fault for deciding to do 2 at once though – I just wanted the colors to be exactly the same!

I think I did a decent job matching the color to the original – he’s the shinier one on the left in the first pic, and the one on the right in the second. (sorry again for the crappy cell phone pics – when they’re all done I’ll get a decent ‘triplet’ shot)

LOL aww you poor thing. *HUGS* They are all gorgeous! You did a good job replicating the colors on each of them. They really are triplets!
Side thought: What do Phoenixes DO at a party?
