There is a country song about it too, to just keep the good thing going and there are like 4 events that trickle off eachother.
A Lady has a flat tire and got help from a man driving along and when she asks him how much she owes him he just tells her to help someone else because he had been in her shoes before, she is in a restaurant and noticed her waitress is very pregnant she leaves her $100 and a note telling her she has been in her shoes before and to repay her she now needs to help someone else. I can’t remember the rest of the song though
I got teary eyed everytime I heard itVery late in reply, but the song is The Chain of Love by Clay Walker 🙂

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.February 18, 2010 at 7:51 pm #767864One of my best friends recently took care of my Guinea pig for me for a whole week, while I was out of state to be with my grandmother at the end of her life. She refused to take any money for it, even though it must have cost her a lot in gas to drive to my house every day. The week after that when the Haiti earthquake struck I took the $50 I had planned to give to my friend for her help and donated it to the Red Cross for the earthquake victims.
February 19, 2010 at 4:17 am #767865I think one of the greatest gifts we can give is to do something nice for someone in need. I’ve done it and have had it done to me–it’s a wonderful type of sharing that we can all do! 🙂

Now I remember don’t let the chain of Love end with you!!July 2, 2012 at 12:00 pm #882783My daughter started this thread a while back and it got dropped. We still Pay-it-Forward every few months or so to someone in need or just someone that deserves to have something nice done for them. This weekend I helped three families all in one swoop.I know this young couple with a baby due this month and she needs so much so I thought, car seat,a must have.I went to town to pay bills and such and right there at the one light in town, set a young family putting out yard sale items and there set a cute little cradle rocker.I pulled up,how much?$10.00,done.Handed her a roll of quarters.I went two blocks up the road and there set a young lady with a little boy playing in his pen putting out yard sell items and there set a pink car seat. How much?$10.00.Done!Handed her a roll of quarters. This young couple are having a little girl.I went and got some good cleaners, took them home, cleaned them up,washed the covers and they were both in perfect shape. And…it helped me get rid of $20.in quarters of which they both needed.LOL Just a little measure and a small amount of change saved up and three young families had a smile on their face not to mention ours. You don’t know what a tiny gesture of kindness for no reason can do sometimes.Try it,you might like it.Pay it Forward.

November 4, 2012 at 12:38 pm #888275Howdy all,I think it is time for a Pay-it-forward.It has been a few months since I have done it.My problem is…and I know this sounds bad,but I honestly have not seen many people doing unselfish things for anyone lately.Well, not much of it anyway. So,I was wondering if anyone has a short story to share about someone you know that is deserving of a sweet surprise for the simple fact that they think of others as much as themselves or even perhaps a little more. Please pm me or share here. Thanks guys.Happy Holidays!

It’s all got to start somewhere… And sometimes, a random act of kindness isn’t so obvious.
For my part, I try to pay it forward in little ways all the time. I like to compliment complete strangers. I will hold the door, even if I have to wait. I take my assistant to lunch or coffee every once in a while just because. Sometimes I grab someone else’s assistant for lunch or coffee. There’s nothing specific I can think of for a short story, but I try to make the concept a way of life in little ways.
November 5, 2012 at 12:48 pm #888300Good for you!Thank you for your thoughts. I too do little things for folks all the time.It becomes a habit, then a way of life.
Maybe I should clarify what I mean as my pay-it-forward.Dragonfriend started this thread and I intend to keep it going as long as I am around. Some friends here sent me my first Poad,Sugar Plum,in a time that I sure needed a bright spot so in honor of their generous deed,I give a little gift about twice a year,at random,to someone I see doing things really kind and unselfish or many times just supporting someone needing a shoulder in bad times. They have no idea I have been watching until I contact them for their address. This is something I do for me and them and I hope it makes someone’s day when they receive something just because I hope it makes them smile when they look at it and remember you know you are not alone and tomorrow brings a brand new day. Many times good deeds go unthanked but that is not the point doing them is it.May it catch on more :bigsmile:Every act matters. No matter how small💞

Male Hearth....one day🤞Dream on.November 6, 2012 at 4:19 am #888335I have paid for the car behind me on a bridge toll, have gone into a fast food type place and while buying a drink for use of the bathroom (my choice they did not ask me too) I decided to be nice to the lady that thanked me for holding the door for her and paid for her purchase of dinner for her and her husband. She told me she would pay it forward sometime soon. I have left tips bigger then the cost of my meal and large tips almost as much.
So I guess it is something I just do when I can, be it as little as a couple of bucks for a bridge toll to $20 or so for dinner.
Pay it forward does not have to be a lot of money it is after all the thought that counts, and it is true. It makes someones evening to see that their is kindness in the world.
I had one place I just bought a coke and fries at a Denny’s and while eating had overheard waitresses talking about the lousy tips that evening. Topping off the evening for the waitress I had was that she had just finished a large group of 10-15 people and not one person complained, in fact others help deal with them and took other tables so that they were treated right, and what tip did these ungrateful people leave, nothing. Not a dime among them all. So I decide to leave her a better tip, and while I did not have a lot of cash I left a tip equal to my dollar amount of my check. It cost me $5.?? for my meal and I left a $5.00 tip. I told the waitress that she deserved a better tip then those people had left and laid the $5 bill down. They were shocked as the new how little I ordered and said I did not have to do that. I said I know but she deserved it and more so consider it part of the tip for the other group. They thanks me and said they all would be talking about it for some time and were sure it would make her night. I heard a squeal as I was leaving when she found the tip and was told about it. I just smiled and walked to my car and left.
That is how you can pay it forward.
Also pay it forward can be helping someone, hold a door open, let that person with less items in front of you at the grocery store, help someone lift an object, help them find something, share your knowledge, help someone move, wait for someone to cross a street, let a car in front of you in traffic.
Hope all those help you if you would like to try to “pay it forward”. -
