That’s a real shame. If this is the same person doing this… isn’t there a way for Ebay to block them from bidding or something?
November 19, 2007 at 5:28 pm #637034Yes, but they have to have the bidders name. Unless they can see the closed listing, which I dont think they can, they wont be able to see who bid on it. 😕
November 19, 2007 at 6:57 pm #637035Ok so I don’t E-bay (or at least not yet) but here’s just a thought on if it is the same person crashing all these listings what may be going on again i don’t E-bay nor am I an E-bay personnel but Maybe if it’s the same person the reason their not just full and completely killing/barring this person from bidding is because it’s a fully stolen account, and they are trying to catch them to press charges, and in this Dip $#!+’s perception of things they are actually getting away with it until the Cops and officials from E-bay and/or whoever covers Identity theft and fraud can get their hands on them, and show up on their doorstep.
😈 😈 😈Unfortunately for the rest of the world it’s a royal pain in the keister. And that may just be my paranoid consipracy thoerorist pooking it’s nose out.
Edited because I realized I’ld left out something that might be a bit clearer
November 19, 2007 at 7:13 pm #637036I would think e-bay could figure what at least what screen name it is and yank their account. I did not see the end to this one. What happened??
I had a $10 bid on her KNOWING I would be out bid and the last time I checked I think it was like $550November 19, 2007 at 7:29 pm #637037DM, eBay has all of that information, but they might not release it even to John, esp. if the owner’s account was hacked.
November 19, 2007 at 8:00 pm #637038If it’s someone using stolen accounts, it’s going to be a different screen name every time…I’m so sad that this has happened to another auction! 🙁 Man, I hope there’s some sort of solution to this….

Even if they can not release the info to John. I would think that e-bay would be able to close down the account and make sure that the person registered to it was not able to open another account without talking to them about the rules.
I NEVER give out any of my passwords or codes jsut because of things like thisNovember 19, 2007 at 8:56 pm #637041ddvm wrote:If it helps I’ll buy the SK directly so they don’t have to put her back up! 😉 😆
I already had a bid of her and it was a legitimate bid so she is mine!! hehehe
I might be talked into selling her though since she would be a dup dragon for me, but there would be a PRICE!! heheheheNovember 19, 2007 at 9:07 pm #637042Dragon Master wrote:lamortefille wrote:DM, eBay has all of that information, but they might not release it even to John, esp. if the owner’s account was hacked.

I NEVER give out any of my passwords or codes jsut because of things like thisFrom the email that was sent to me from eBay (as one of the bidders on that auction), I gathered that the high bidder’s account was compromised (hacked). There are plenty of viruses and programs that collect keystroke data which is then used to get into peoples’ accounts and make mischief or steal their money or identity. I doubt if the high bidders had anything to do with the actual bidding, so there is no use punishing them. It’s not alway a matter of giving out your passwords….sometimes people just help themselves. 🙁
November 19, 2007 at 9:12 pm #637043last time I looked at it it was at around 1500 O.O
November 19, 2007 at 9:26 pm #637044i think I got an e-mail that it sold for $2500 or so
November 19, 2007 at 11:41 pm #637045We were not able to get even the high bidder’s name this time but on the other auction it was two different, supposedly stolen, eBay user’s accounts and I would guess that we would have seen a third one this time. EBay has not yet given us any information from the pulled auctions, so we will closely watch future auctions to collect what we can.
I hate to even think it but this started happening just after we hired and let go someone who was to work on marketing and eBay auctions. I will follow through as dots become available to connect and I am pressuring eBay to cooperate and find whoever is doing this. They do have an investigative division and we will see how well they follow through. Should they be working with the FBI on this sort of problem I’m sure they will not disclose what course of action they take there either. It sure does seem to be a motive of harassment involved because there doesn’t seem to be any way that anyone can materially profit from doing this.
November 19, 2007 at 11:59 pm #637046Thank you for the update, John. I hope they get to the bottom of it!
November 20, 2007 at 1:27 am #637047I’m very sorry for all the trouble this is causing Windstone. I hope ebay gets to the bottom of this soon. 🙁
