I know plenty of folks born during the month of October, for the cold Februarys remind the primordial instincts to prepare for Spring and Renewal and Rebirth……..and I celebrate Halloween in memory of my father – and in memory of all those that I personally have known that have passed away during the month of October. Too many that have gone this month, and this year I add two more…. and the melancholy always pulls me this and that way.

        …………My October Days

It isn’t much a happy month of bright and shiney air
October starts the end of green when trees and shrub go bare
Memories of so many that are buried with free souls
And all around the whispered winds they come and go
They calm each night in darkness and I welcome each new day
In hopes the sorrows still the weeping and in light they fade away
