So the last few weeks have been awful, and I’m going to whine for a bit.

Firstly, of course, there’s the fact that I had the mother of all slow months for business last month. Sort of at random really, I’ve been doing good, and I now seem to be doing good again. But I’m still broke, given that every time I get some money in, it goes to cover one of the expenses that piled up unpaid last month.

And then there’s the fact that as a result of last month’s mess I had to sell some of my collection. 🙁

Then there’s my computer. Which died about a month ago. In such a way that we were sure it was the power supply. So I got a new power supply. Still dead. Well, in that case it has to be the motherboard, nothing else would cause it to be so completely dead, right? Wrong. Got a new motherboard, still dead! So we took the thing apart and went through testing every single thing, and it’s the graphics card. So now I have to get that replaced, and try and sell the unneeded new power supply and motherboard. (Anybody need a micro atx socket A motherboard and a nice shiny power supply?)

THEN! As if this wasn’t good enough, there’s my sewing machine! Which has suddenly decided it just doesn’t feel like actually sewing. It goes along making stitches, but something’s no longer lined up, so the stitches don’t interlock most of the time, so it’s just stringing thread along, with the occasional actual stitch thrown in for fun. So suddenly half my projects are on hold while I try and figure out how the heck to fix that. So now I’m getting behind on things that were supposed to be done by now. Thank heavens I do a lot of hand sewing, or I’d be totally screwed, but I have three bodysuits I’m supposed to be finishing, and hand sewing those takes for-freaking-ever!

But it gets better, that’s not enough, oh no! Today I noticed that it feels kind of weird and uncomfortable when I pee, and smells funny too, and I seem to be needing to go a lot more often than I should, really… So I do a quick google search on those symptoms, and it seems I have urinary tract infection.

I have no insurance! I am so flat broke there’s no way I can visit a doctor! Gah! The universe just hates me!

      *whimper, whine, moan, gripe.*

Okay, that’s out of my system now. But man, this sucks SO very badly!

(Edited to add, I just found a gray hair! I’m not even 30 yet. Darn stress.)

Sorry to hear all that, SPark! 🙁 It may sound lame, but I just hope everything works out for you. Do you have to visit a doctor for that infection? Is that expense set?

I probably should, the infection will clear up in a day or two with antibiotics, and without them I’ll be fighting it for weeks. I guess there goes the last of my savings. Definitely not getting a Secret Keeper any time soon, unless some kind of miracle happens.

Maybe it will. And even if it doesn’t – I’m glad for you you didn’t use up your savings on an SK earlier. You’d really have been up a creek now if you had.
Do you still have that threat of getting sued?

Yep. It’s in the part where the lawyers and the courts do technical stuff and we wait for months and months and months, so nothing is going to happen for quite a while, far as I can tell.

Thankfully it’s looking like even if I lose it, my insurance company is going to cover things, (er, I should say “my parent’s insurance company” as I don’t have one) so I’m not as stressed about that as I was, though it’s still really annoying.

That sucks. And the whole issue is probably being way overblown by this person. As far as I can tell suing has never solved a problem.

eek! that really sucks. i hope things get straightened otu soon.

Youv’e most likely heard it before but drink lots of cranberry juice. It helps flush the infection. Hope things get better for you!

I hope everything gets better for you. It really sucks when ppl are sick and they can’t afford to go to the Dr.

100% cranberry juice is the best, not the cocktail stuff. (and it tastes better without all that high fructose corn syrup anyway)

Check out supplements; they make cranberry extract pills, which will allow you to take a much more concentrated dose. Also try the uva ursi or bearberry extract (also pills). I’ve sworn by those for years.

My father and brother found their first grey hair at around 17…

                      Take care!

Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

spark!!!!! one this you must AND I MEAN MUST DRINK IS NETTLE TEA!!!!!!! ok cranberry juice is nice, but the sugar in there can irritate things a tiny bit, or prolong it anyway, it does help though, but nothing like nettle tea. nettle tea you can buy at a good health food store or whole foods ( i think) and it is an absolute must! it is very clean tasting like sweet grass, so you need not fear something nasty tasting, but i had super bad chronic UTIs when i was a teen and one nearly killed me- it me with permanently damaged kidneys/ bladder walls. i went to a super homeopathic doctor and NETTLE is the best for it! drink 3- 4 cups a day it feels soooooo good on your kidneys- i can feel it in my back in my kidneys as it goes through, very cleansing. the brand is “alvita” its a white box with blue accents, says “nettle leaf tea bags” on it, its the only thing in the tea and perfectly safe. it costs 4 to 5 bucks so its cheap; you should find it with more of the medicinal teas/ tinctures. it great to have on hand anytime you feel a little “funny” down there have a cup or two and you’ll be right as rain. for your case though, definitely have 4+ cups a day til you’re better! good luck, i feel for you i have soooo been there!

I’m sorry you are going through such a rough time, SPark, *sends warm fuzzy thoughts*

I know a bladder infection doesn’t seem very serious but it can be – it could get worse and travel up your ureter to your kidney. Which would be very bad and potentially life threatening. So I hope you go see a doctor. He/she will probably want a urine sample. Or do you have a GYN?

I hope you figure out what is wrong with your sewing machine. I am very impressed that you could work on your computer yourself and figure out what was wrong with it. I know the guy who works on our computers at work often changes two or three parts before he gets to the right one.

Hope the mechanical gremlins move onto somebody else! 😀

Well, it’s mostly my boyfriend who’s good with computers. I know a little, but he did most of the work.

Sadly I don’t have a GYN, I don’t have a doctor at all. No insurance + no money = no medical care. I’m trying to get accepted at a low income clinic near here, but it’s going to be at least a few days before I am, perhaps longer.
