How in the HECK did I miss this thread???? And it looks like it’s been here forever! Is this the infamous insect porn thread, or did that start somewhere else??

I laughed so hard at those cat pictures…it’s like caturday on 4chan all of a sudden!!

Also – I LOVE JUMPING SPIDERS!!! They’re AWESOME! And so pretty! If they weren’t so small, they’d make great pets – they don’t bite and they are very responsive; they really watch you and react to your movements. They’re wicked cool.
Jerusalem crickets are pretty cool, too. I would always be the one to go and rescue them when they popped up at school and everyone else was screaming like little girls and trying to step on them…

I wanna play. You want to see creepy? I caught a pair of these in my parents’ house. They are very, very vicious and will attack you if they are cornered!

We call them wind scorpions. Some call them camel spiders. The big ones are in the desert, but ours are about two inches long.
They have four mandibles that move independently. Very creepy!

Oh, come on! I love spiders! I would love to have one of these in a terrerium, but I am afraid it would get out and then I would have nightmares.

We’ve had a pet tarantula named Eric. About 200 praying manti named Eric. There was Eric the gopher snake, Eric the turtle, the alligator lizzard named Eric. At least 200 fish named Eric. Two kittens named Eric that later became Dragon and Phoenix much to my hubby’s dismay!
                      I love pets!

Arachnids are freakin’ sweet! When I was in college, one of my housemates bred all kinds of bugs (for pet stores) in a shed out back…he had a pair of scorpions whose stings were apparently deadly within 4 minutes of being stung…He didn’t sell those to the pet stores!! ;P I never had nightmares about them escaping, though granted they were in a shed outside the house…

My favorite of his were the hissing cockroaches. The giant pill bugs were pretty sweet too…

I think the only critters that creep me out a little are centipedes. Millapedes are fine, but centipedes…eeew.

OH! I forgot! We did have a very freaky red-headed texas centipede named Eric! That thing had some chompers and was really creepy. It was about 7 inches long and very fast!
