I just found out that my psychiatrist passed away. I had an appointment with him two weeks ago but when I got to his office, there was a note on the door saying that he was away, due to illness. Didn’t think much of it (other than being annoyed that he didn’t call to tell me, which I feel bad about now), called his office when I got home to reschedule but didn’t hear anything back. Called again today and the message said that his practice has been shut down for good. Got a really bad feeling so I googled him. He passed away suddenly last Wednesday, he was only in his 40’s and I thought in good health. I’ve been seeing him for the last 10 years, and I’m tearing right now. He was a great doctor, and a great man. I guess I’m just in shock because it was so totally sudden.

Sun Dragon Koi #3September 30, 2009 at 9:18 pm #785227OMG! It is kind of weird that no one got in touch with his patients, though.
Read my books! Volume 1 and 2 of A Dragon Medley are available now.

It is a little odd that no one contacted his patients, but if it was a small doctor’s office (say he was the only doctor) it could be that there is no one on hand to call.
September 30, 2009 at 11:50 pm #785229That is a shame that no one contacted his patients. Leaves you up in the air. Sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. Especially after seein ghim for 10 years-then it is like you lost a member of the family, or at least a friend. 😥
And GB, you have hit the spot on that one. I am only 23, but I think about how short life is all the time, and I think about death too often. I am scared that I will die before I am old, and I am scared that I won’t die peacefully.October 3, 2009 at 5:04 pm #785234I’m sorry for your loss.
