December 23, 2008 at 1:43 pm #630119December 23, 2008 at 2:10 pm #630120Ew! Sorta creepy. Yet, fascinating. I’ve never seen birds so young before.
December 23, 2008 at 2:24 pm #630121Oh, wow, those dots are so weird!
I think it’s really neat to see them. I’ve never seen such young birds, not even in pictures.

Isn’t that awesome! Baby birds are so fascinating. One could do a study solely on the different ways baby birds evolved to draw attention to their mouths for food!
I think baby birds are very cute, and I know I’m the odd one out!

My art: featherdust.comDecember 23, 2008 at 7:22 pm #630127oh wow! They are soo neat! I find them cute, but very intimidating with their fragilness. the few times I’ve been fortunate enough to see newly hatched birds, I’ve found them fascinating. Thanks for the pics BDW! 😀 😀

New life always fascinate me 😀December 24, 2008 at 4:42 am #630129Congratulations on the new babies . I had an aviary with over 100 foreign finches , including Gouldians , & remember it was always thrilling when chicks hatched . What a lovely thing to happen at this time of year & thankyou for sharing 🙂
December 24, 2008 at 4:46 am #630130Awwww! So cute! I think it’s so interesting how they sway their heads!
December 24, 2008 at 5:04 am #630131Oh man, as much as I love baby birds, when I first saw those blue dots on finches for the first time a few years ago I was disturbed. It looked SO WEIRD head on! Almost like a caterpillar!
I love how finches need such a bold a “FOOD GOES IN HERE” sign. XD
