Well, it’s official, I just got off the phone, and just dropped $6200 on the new server. Supposed to be here in two weeks-ish.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of server? IBM? HP?

All of my servers are custom build equipment using Intel, Asus, Seagate and 3ware equipment.
I have some Dell equipment but I prefer the flexibility.
December 5, 2006 at 4:34 pm #511137impressive…custom built usually is best…the software company I work for usually just proposes IBM. Our applications are UNIX based and IBM seems to handle that the best…or so I’m told.
December 5, 2006 at 5:47 pm #511138Good grief! I could buy alot of dragons with $6000.
December 5, 2006 at 5:49 pm #511139you’d be shocked at how much servers can cost…you could buy lots and lots of dragons…

HP, IBM, Dell, Costco brand … it’s all the same to Unix/Linux .. i386/i586, that’s all it sees.
Now if you were talking Alpha or Sparc…
Yeah I could buy lots of dragons if I didn’t have servers, but then where would I talk to all these female dragon collectors?
December 5, 2006 at 10:02 pm #511141At least you have your priorities straight!!!! 😉

Let’s not get crazy now. I never alluded to such a thing. 😆
December 5, 2006 at 10:06 pm #511143no you didn’t allude…I thought it was rather blatant… 😆

PSSH! You could get 10 secret keepers at the number I’ve heard thrown around for the ‘production’ ones.
Or 60 $100 Windstones….or one of each of their direct sales items…
WOW that’s fun to think about. “If I had $6,000 to spend on Windstones”
I think I could finish all my sets and quit till Melody makes new stuff 😯 -
