Thanks! I’m still trying to figure out how I want to show her off. I’ve got her and the grifs on one side of the mantle, and the KiRin family on the other, but it’ll probably change, once I clean off my shelves and get organized. HA!
December 27, 2006 at 7:36 pm #519217Is it me or is the white griffin smaller than the brown one?

Its an illusion. I had to put mine right next to each other just to make sure!
December 27, 2006 at 7:41 pm #519219Oh, darn illusions. 😆
December 27, 2006 at 7:45 pm #519220I think I was standing a little off kilter when I took it… I was rather precariously balanced on the edge of my hearth, and since my middle name ought to be “grace” (not!)…
December 27, 2006 at 8:01 pm #519221How many odd-eyed flapcats are there? I’m not a fan of cats, but that one is funny-looking enough to interest me…

I dont remember. Probably 10 or a dozen. They are not on the collectors page 😕
December 27, 2006 at 8:09 pm #519223Wow! They’re really rare! How much did they sell for?
December 27, 2006 at 8:12 pm #519224$200, I think. They were offered as a BIN, and I think there were 10. It’s a limited production according to the certificate (I was checking to see what it said).

Im pretty sure it was $200 or $230. I just remember it was too much for me at the time. Nessie? Do you remember what you paid?
December 27, 2006 at 8:15 pm #519226That’s not too bad for something there’s only 10 of. Of course nothing‘s too bad compared to the $500 you spent on that gray tabby, Ski… How many of those are there?
December 27, 2006 at 8:18 pm #519227Weren’t there only 6 of the grey tabby? I know I kept trying to get one, but the bidding just got too rich for me…

Well the difference is that the odd eyes were limited production, which means they may make more at some point. The grey and orange tabbys are only 12. There will only ever be 12, so thats why they cost more. Plus, the sculpt is different. The odd eyed sculpt is the same sculpt as the regular production flap cats…its just painted white and has the different eyes. The tabbys are a whole new (old) sculpt that was never released into production. And actually, the cheapest one of the greys went for $510, so I got a good deal. an early number for less than it originally cost. Stinks that they didnt keep the box, though.
December 27, 2006 at 8:20 pm #519229I see. In that case $500 is justified – if you like cats. 😀

Ah well, I like them well enough. I just like to own rare things. I may end up selling the orange one. I find it hard to justify having two $500 sculptures that are almost exactly alike…esp when I have so much credit card debt. I may list it come Jan or Feb when I may get more bids.
