If I remember my 6th or 7th grade science popcorn (the food) will absorb shock so it would be GREAT for packing

In the past before styrofoam was invented, people used popcorn all the time, where did you think the name came from to begin with?

Betcha if we did a google search, we’d find references.

Okay, did a search, did you know all you can find is stuff about eating it..and what time in history, etc?

I seem to recall references to using popcorn as packing material back in colonial days, but I can’t find any on the net, course I could just be using the wrong word choices for parameters.

I have an old candy making cookbook and Betty Crocker
(50 yrs)cook book of my Mom’s Both recommend using popped but unseasoned popcorn as packing material when shipping cookies etc to the troops. That way the fragile items are well protected and the person receiving gets twice the treats 😆 I make different colored caramel corn place it in ziploc bags and pack with it every year for Christmas Yum 😉
