I’ve noticed that my last three PYO unis have their horns lacquered and it’s noted to not to try and paint them until I check in about them first, How should I paint them instead if the horn painting instructions have changed?

My art: featherdust.comAugust 23, 2016 at 10:00 am #1493188I think we made a mistake and put lacquered horns in them… I don’t know what to do about that. Maybe someone else has a suggestion? I suppose if you can get the horn out without injuring him we could send another horn. Please contact us at service@windstoneeditions.com if you need an unlacquered PYO unicorn horn.

August 23, 2016 at 11:58 am #1493213If you can pull the horn out there is another option (other than having Windstone send you another horn). Use spray primer. Primer is designed to stick to any surface and provide you with a fresh surface that will accept new paint. I have used it on lacquered already painted surfaces so I don’t see why it wouldn’t work on a lacquered horn.
And if you can’t get the horn out, you could just primer the entire figure. Horn and all.

And no worries about a new horn, it won’t be an issue, I just wanted to see what the instructions would be if I did end up wanting to paint the horns. But I’m usually happy with silver, so no worries!
Thank you Prezaurian! If I decide to try and paint it I’ve got this nice brush on primer that could work!
