They are brush painted with acrylics.
I took a short dumb video of myself working on the Sun Griffin several months ago that shows some of the process..

I used to airbrush a coat of white on them to prime them so the paint wouldn’t be absorbed so heavily, but the kind ladies at the Factory have started to do that for me before they ship me the naked griffins! 😉

All the work you see on these guys is done without an airbrush, just lots of time and paintbrushes.
