May 27, 2010 at 11:44 am #807030Thank you so much for sharing; your art is outstanding! 🙂 Now I’m a bit curious and I simply have to ask, how long does the average drawing take you?

Well it kind of depends on what I am doing.
If I am just doing a sketch..like these: http://img12.imageshack.us/img12/4061/img9722q.jpg http://img532.imageshack.us/img532/8452/shimmhi.jpg
I can finish those in a day, maybe 4 hours if I do strait sketch work.Colored pieces take longer. In the case of these water colors, they are a smaller paper size for one. If I am just doing one, the pose and character come easy to draw, then I can draw, ink, water color in a day or two. If it is a little more complicated for me(trying to figure out the right pose for instance) it can take me a few days to finish.

May 29, 2010 at 2:01 am #807035I have other things I like to paint, Harmony Kingdom for instance release one PYO at their yearly convention…I’ve never gone..but other people who do sell them on ebay! They are expensive buggers -_-……But I really like to paint. Here are a few of those:
This is the pyo that was released this year! I was so excited, I snagged three of them and am going to let my sister paint one.
I sent that guy to a friend who was so lovely! she baught me my first windstone.
This one has this special glitter in some spots that shines blue. I still have him here. He also has gold on his sides that shows nicely in the light. The frog, not sure when he came out but I got three of them. One is still unpainted.
And a humming bird. Like the dragon, she is a box.
I’ll sell or trade them at some point. They are taking up space. I still have a cat in a bathtub HK pyo, a stack of turtles called Shell Games, and the other frog.
May 30, 2010 at 4:02 am #807036Ooooo! I didn’t know that Harmony Kingdom made PYOs! Those are beautiful by the way. I love your use of color. So vibrant and yet not overcharged – if that makes sense?

Thank you! I love color and I try to use bright colors..but make them look as natural as possible.
Yea they do, but thiers are special. One only every year, and only as manny as get handed out at the convention ever get released. So they end up being rather rare. These ‘Pyo’s’ are made of resin.
May 30, 2010 at 8:03 pm #807038Outstanding job, gorgeous colors! I think I’ve seen Harmony Kingdom collectables before a while back. It might have been in this high-end drug store that also sold perfume, collectables, and Folkmanis puppets. I spotted these stylistically quirky little boxes (very pricey) and I wanted to pick up a few for my grandfather because he loves odd-looking sculptures of frogs, birds, gnomes, etc. I was with my mom that day and we were in a hurry though, I forget why. So as I was saying, the finished PYOs look great, you should be very proud. I’m groovin’ on your hummingbird, of course. 😀 What would you charge for these if you were to sell them?
June 7, 2010 at 3:49 am #807039My sister and I started Painting cloths. I had a few skirts I wanted dyed a different color..and I went a little nuts. My sister thought it was a great idea too.
This skirt was all a greyish blue with just black tyedey. I wanted more and brighter colors…so tada!
While my Aunt visited, I made her one too! This skirt was all white originaly:
My sister atacked a pair of pants that had stains every where from boat work.
She also made the hat.
And this skirt is by my sister. It is drying in this photo.
June 7, 2010 at 4:52 am #807040Cool! Gosh, this brings back memories… I remember tie-dying some stuff a really long time ago, (back in grade school) and it was so much fun! 🙂 Looks like your stuff came out great — your sister’s hat is excellent too.
June 7, 2010 at 5:53 am #807041How cool! I like the effects on the cloth.
