Tropical Ocean
I am so proud of this color. This is a special color I have worked on for around the past two years….Tropic Ocean. This is the sister coloration to Rain Forest. I will be painting Rain Forest next. Rain Forest is dominantly green with deep green blue and purple instead of pinks.
So this fella is made after the colors of the tropical island waters, reefs, and brightly colored water inhabitants. Water at has this ability to display a wide range of blues, to light greens depending on the depth of water. Sunlight shining through a cresting wave can show all these range of colors at once.
During a sunset you get even more colors as the water reflects the colors of the sky and clouds.I actualy really love the straw eyes this guy ended up with.
His body actualy has a lot more verieties of blue greens, and light blues that transition into deep blue then what this shows! i could not get my camera to catch these wonderful colors. it said”no, it is ALL blue!”
this is also hints of pink over some of the purple parts, and lots of interference.September 12, 2009 at 4:51 pm #699605Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!

September 12, 2009 at 5:04 pm #699607Tropical Ocean is so beautiful! I love the way it looks. I can see that one selling for a whole lot if you ever decided to sell it.
September 12, 2009 at 11:06 pm #699608I love this dragon! Koi, you come up with such amazing color schemes! Well, if you ever decide to sell, I’m sure you won’t have any problems selling him and am anxious to see the Rain Forest compliment! Um, wouldn’t mind owing them both myself, if you know what I mean. 😳 Tropics and Rain Forests–da da dum da dum da dum. Between you and your sister, I’m going to stay broke! 🙄 😆

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE This one!!! The nose! It’s PERFECT! 😮 😮 😮
I don’t know why but I am intensely drawn to his nose!!! It’s BEAUTIFUL!!! 😀
September 13, 2009 at 4:34 am #699611Boy, I don’t check for a few days, and look at all the wonderful pictures I almost missed!
Drag0n, your collection is amazing. I had no idea you had so many of Koi’s PYOs; surely more than she does. They make a great picture, and I am sooo jealous. 🙂
As for the Tropical Ocean Keeper, it is beautiful. I love the colors. Just cannot decide which I like better, the Beach Glass or the Tropical Ocean; they are both gorgeous. 🙂 Can’t wait to see the Rain Forest; it sounds like he will be my favorite colors.
September 13, 2009 at 5:09 am #699612I pretty much love everything about him. *_*
September 13, 2009 at 6:38 am #699613Wow, Koishi! 😮 I bow to your skill and eye for color combos. I’m still pretty new to the forums, so I read through the whole thread tonight. I planned on skimming through, but your pictures are so beautiful I didn’t want to miss a single one. I didn’t think they could keep getting better, but I have to say Tropical Ocean is the most beautiful yet. Thanks for posting the pictures for everyone to see! 🙂
September 13, 2009 at 6:53 am #699614Tropical Ocean is just beautiful, but I think my favorite part is the way you painted the edges of the wing feathers: they remind me of a wave with light behind it, just starting to crest over. The fact that it repeats from feather to feather suggests foam ripples on the sand at the beach. Very nice touch! 🙂

WOW! thank you very much for such a lovely compliment!
Thanks every one! i might sell him eventualy, but for now i am keeping him. I am glad he is so well liked.
Right now I have one that i am working on that is almost the complete opposite. This new one has a black base and is painted almost entirely using metalic powders..So he is going to be very dark with a metalic look that should look something like heat treated copper(just with black base). I am still working on the affect, but it is looking interesting.
September 13, 2009 at 4:00 pm #699616Don’t blame you for wanting to keep him for now! I’d never part with him. Well if you do sell, I’ll hopefully have time to save some money! 😳 😀
September 13, 2009 at 7:10 pm #699617I also think Tropical Ocean is your most beautiful paint job yet, koishii 🙂 He’s definitely my kind of dragon. Would you ever consider painting another similar to him if someone would like to commission one?
September 13, 2009 at 7:42 pm #699618oh yeah! i have no problem duplicating most of the colors i have already done, including this one, the Tropical Ocean keeper.
